Messed up to go order made me the racist customer.
I went to get take out but unfortunately, my order was wrong (1 part of my order was wrong). When I brought the meal back, I was met with frustration from the restaurant staff who seemed to think I had purposely ordered incorrectly. They were concerned about the cost of remaking the meal and expressed their annoyance towards me, citing past experiences of people not showing up for their orders. I tried to explain that I had paid for the meal and would have been a loyal customer had my order been correct, but they continued to blame me for their problems. Despite paying and leaving a tip, I left feeling frustrated and disappointed in the customer service.
I was so shocked by the restaurant staff's reaction to my order that I couldn't even respond. However, the situation got worse when one of the female staff members insinuated that I was being racist because I couldn't understand their accents. This was not only hurtful, but also completely untrue. I was simply struggling to understand their instructions due to the noise in the restaurant and the fact that they were speaking quickly. It was a frustrating and disappointing experience, and I left feeling unfairly judged and mistreated.
In my experience, the people at that restaurant did not seem to care about their customers. They were more concerned about the cost of remaking my order than ensuring that I was satisfied with my meal. Their behavior suggests that they are more interested in saving money than in providing good customer service. Overall, it felt like they were more interested in pinching pennies than in creating a positive experience for their customers.
It was an incredibly frustrating experience. Insinuated that I was being racist by asking if I couldn't understand them because of their Asian background. It felt like an unfair accusation, and I was shocked and upset by it. While my reaction may not have been ideal, I still feel strongly about the overall experience. It was frustrating and disheartening to be accused of racism during my interaction especially when I had simply expressed difficulty understanding the other person. Additionally, receiving unwanted text messages felt like a violation of my boundaries and added to my discomfort. Despite my imperfect response, my feelings about the experience remain unchanged.
Even though our interaction was unpleasant, the restaurant still brought me the correct meal that I requested for my coworker. However, I feel that I deserve an apology from them for accusing me of trying to scam them, which was really hurtful and unnecessary. All I wanted was to fix the order, and I even returned the wrong meal untouched before calling to ask for a correction. I hope the restaurant can understand that I had no malicious intentions and that sometimes mistakes can be made with good intentions.
Since I work on a minimum wage budget, I recommended this restaurant to my company with the best of intentions. I never intended to be malicious or dishonest, and I couldn't justify paying for the extra meal out of my own pocket since it was my boss's money. Even though we had a disagreement over the noodles, my only goal was to ensure that my coworker received the correct meal due to her dietary restrictions being...
Read moreI'd like to first start off by stating that I am an Asian American who can write a review based on the fact that the service here is horrible. The food was wonderful. However, I have an allergy to mushrooms, and STATED that in the instructions. When the food arrived to me, it had mushrooms inside the entire order, thus I got a simple refund from the food delivery service. Okay, no problem... we ordered again & everything was perfect. Then tonight, we reordered from them again stating "No Mushrooms, please (allergy)" on the instructions for the kitchen. They cancelled our order. We reordered. I wondered why they cancelled, so I called them directly. The man answered the phone saying "hello?", I asked if they could confirm our online order. The man proceeded to say "why did you get a refund on your order with us last time?". I responded that I had an allergy & the food was inedible for me. He was so beyond RUDE. He complained about my allergy & refund, and I simply knew that this was a business I did not want to give any more money to. I told him to cancel the order, and I will give another restaurant my money.
As someone who has worked in the restaurant business for over 3 years myself, from the kitchen to a hostess. This one particular person who I dealt with was absolutely terrible. I hope the owner reads this and notes the lack of gentleman I dealt with, and instead of apologizing for almost sending someone to the hospital for al allergic reaction, he disrespected the customer even more after an explanation & phone call.
I believe not everyone working at the restaurant would have handled the situation this way, but on the date of the June 23rd, whoever picked up the phone at 8:15pm was impolite, beyond rude, not understanding, and unprofessional.
For anyone who has an allergy, don't risk it here. Or if you just want someone with excellent customer service do not choose...
Read moreAs others have already commented, I agree that Thai Cuisine is a hidden gem. It's tucked away in the corner between a Papa Johns and Play It Again Sports. A while back, my family and I stumbled upon it while we were in the Mandarin area and decided to give it a try. I went there for lunch today and ordered the Basil & Chili Sizzling Fish. They give you the option of fillets but I opted for the whole red snapper (market price depending on size). It was perfectly deep-fried and topped with crispy basil leaves. Normally they would also top the whole fish with a spicy sauce but I asked for the sauce on the side so as not to take away from the crunch. For spice level, I chose hot, for which they use fresh chili pepper rather than dried. This gives it added flavor and aroma.
I recommend the Thai Iced Tea if you like sweet tea and are open to something a little different.
For dessert, I tried the home-made Coconuts Ice Cream mixed with jack fruit. It's refreshing and has a nice texture. That said, they top it with whip cream and sprinkles which I felt made it too sweet. If you order it, I suggest asking for the ice cream without whip cream.
The entire staff was extremely friendly and came by often to check on me and strike conversation.
Overall another...
