It's important to note that when it comes to Pizza we all have different tastes and unfortunately V Pizza didn't meet our expectations. Not to say that the numerous people enjoying their meals wouldn't feel different so again this is just Bill & I. This new location in a new Mall off Gate Parkway is a bit of a challenge to get into. At present parking is ok, however once the Steakhouse opens and other services parking will be a challenge. Upon entering we expected to be seated, Nope! You need to place your order from a wall menu or hand held. For new guests it's a sudden challenge to figure out what you want. Pizza is the main selection with only two pasta dishes, couple of sandwiches etc., we both expected more. Ordered Small salads at $6.50 each and were then advised that Pizza only came in 13" size. Ordered one and two drinks. Upon payment up popped the "Auto Tip%". If there is anything we dislike, Auto Tip is high on the list. First who gets it? How can I Tip before we get any service? Tipping now starts at 18% and climbs quickly so for that zero â. Was asked if this was our first visit, saying yes we were given a RED number 10, seems like that identifies guests as NEW. Salads came but the table had no utensils, server asked if we wanted some... Yes seemed like the right answer. Bill's Ceaser Salad dressing was small as mine was and asked for additional ones. My Balsamic was good but Bill's Ceaser was not too his liking and thickness of paste so 3 â for salads. Now the much anticipated Pizza arrives. Again pizza is personal taste and they missed our mark. Little sauce and cheese with just a hint of garlic with bland meatballs on top. 2 â for us. Eva came over to see how we were doing and asked if we loved our food... sadly Bill responded No. Now both of us must compliment EVA, she offered different selections and explained how the process works and more. While we thanked her we decided not to try anything else. Another interesting aspect is V Pizza is connected to Sidecar a Bar. Also interesting is the need to walk through the Bar in order to get to the restroom. Ok for adults but for kids... not such a good idea as they will be out of sight. As you can see we had issues but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and leave this...
Read moreAs one of the newest V Pizza empire, it is an interesting space, especially Sidecar.
The main part of V's probably seats 30ish people with ordering at the counter for your pizza and related menu items. By the way the chicken wings were really good size (not expected at a pizza joint). Part of our party ordered them and they were very good.
Sidecar is the more energetic bar side, seems to be a larger space since there aren't pizza ovens sharing real estate. Primarily adults sitting and standing with a pretty wide mix of people. Large bar, plenty on tap. This part is suitable for larger groups. For menu items you will still order at the counter on the V's side, then they will provide you an order number placard and bring your food to the table. Any beverages, you can order at the bar separately at Sidecar.
I've been to other V's pizzas so the pizza experience was already known. The pizza is very thin, and the centre of the crust doesn't stand up well when you pick it up. The signature burn marks (as well as the taste/smell for me) on the pizzas made in the wood burning brick ovens aren't my favorite but to each his own. It's a very hot oven so it is a feature of Neapolitan style pizza not a bug (dang you IT and Marketing people).
There is also an outdoor space with astroturf with umbrella equipped tables and seating. Some customers were out there even when it was high wind.
Sidecar gets busy so expect an energetic atmosphere and expect to huddle close to hear others. Which is totally fine, just trying to help out others that might think the bar side will be quiet, the V's side was definitely quieter. So pick based...
Read moreThese guys probably have some of the best pizza around. Authentic Neapolitan dough and pizza ovens with creative toppings and excellent flavors. Unfortunately it is not the web-like, airy cornicione not true Neapolitan Pizza has but it is as close as you're going to find in this town. We usually get one of the pizzas and an order of the incredibly awesome calabrian pepper wings, but the time I had to try one of the burgers I keep hearing about that are made only on Mondays. Absolutely incredible Burger. Very very rich flavors and a great texture with just a little crispiness on the outside and incredibly juicy inside. I was hoping to get some of the bourbon bacon jam that I had heard about but that was only for a special so I'll keep my eyes out to the emails telling me when they're going to have it again. The picante Pizza what is as spicy as you would want put full of flavor. It took a little longer than we would have thought being at lunch and my hamburger came out with the wrong toppings but they made it right. I love the idea of homemade German like potato salad instead of fries with this Burger as it keeps the entire dish fresh alongside the lettuce tomato and balsamic glaze served with it. Does Burger deserves a very large beer so I'll have to come back at dinner to have another one sometime. I guess the atmosphere is exactly the way it's supposed to be but I'm thinking they could have done a little bit more with it to make it look a little...
