One star for their epic customer service demonstrated by their customer service lead in their “click and collect curbside” department. Our friend placed her order at 7:51am with confirmation of payment in an email. It NEVER showed up on IKEA’s side. When we showed them the email confirmation, their CS Lead, looked it up in their system, said the items were available and that they didn’t know why it had not gone through. Our “pickup time” was between 11a to 12p. Arrived at 11:45 and it was not ready. The CS lead implied possibly it had not gone through, and that was why they didn’t pull it. We asked if we could pay and purchase again right there but she was too busy and about to go on her break. She told another employee that, he looked at us and walked off. We assumed he was getting it ready for us. We called our friend (who had placed the order), and was on speaker phone with her and the customer service lead, talking the situation through, then the CS lead walked off during the conversation. She told us she was going to the bathroom, in the middle of our phone conversation. Twenty minutes later, she came back. We asked her if we could purchase the piece with our card and get it then? She went to look the item up, and it was missing pieces, so that was why the purchase wasn’t in her system (why their online customer system allowed the purchase to be placed initially, who knows?). At this point, we have been there an hour and half and her attitude was still not customer service friendly—how dare we inconvenience her. Our $400 item was not appreciated and apparently did not merit good customer service. Pulled out of their parking lot with the in-stock items loaded at 1:15 and they will ship the remaining smaller pieces. Had she looked the item up directly when we first arrived and sent the other employee to get it, we could have expedited the process by an hour. The disappearing employee came back frequently to peer around the corner and offer no help. Store looked great otherwise but their LEAD customer service Manager was rude, did not want to help us and made us feel like WE inconvenienced her. When the order was placed at 7:51a and should have been picked up between 11-12. We had planned on shopping more once our friend’s items were loaded however, the whole situation was distasteful. Especially coming from my customer service background-resorts, high end food service and retail. UNACCEPTABLE. This personally was our first time in an IKEA store and were so looking forward to it. Never again. Horrible experience.

Ikea!! I love you! 💕 As weird as this may sound but you are my happy place! Well, actually I have several happy places around town but you're one of them haha! It's such a big store. You can get lost if it wasn't for the signs guiding you but even with those, it's still easy to get turned around sometimes. I love how you can find a bunch of marked down prices and they have good foods and the employees are really nice. It's a great store to find stuff for storage and you'll find all kinds of kitchen tools and supplies. Coffee presses and pretty dining ware. Stuff for kids rooms and storage and just a lot of stuff. You have to go several times to really get the layout of their inventory because it's pretty big. By the way, at night Ikea has such a Cool view outside right when the sun goes down and it rains. I took some pics of it. Just thought it would be cool to share. 😃😄 By the way, if you are blind or visually impaired using voice over or voice to text and it doesn't describe the pics. There are three photos that I shared of the parking lot facing the street. Ikea's parking lot is really big so the street is a distant view. So you will mostly just see the skyline, or the sun's last glow as it's laying down to sleep in the night. The top part of the photo is a dark blue, mostly cloudless, skies, then it turns pink and then yellow. On the left side of the photo there's a couple of palm trees, a few dark clouds, a few small clouds breaking off of a larger one. And a couple of street lamps with their lights glowing. And the glow of the lights go down to the parking lot pavement. The entire lot is shimmering from the reflection of the lights and water from the rains. It has a really glowing, shimmering look. The second and third pics are pretty much the same except they are facing more of the left side of the lot where you don't see the sun glow but you'll see more dark clouds. And shimmering street lights and palm trees. Hope that helps lol

This was my first time ever visiting an Ikea. Lots of people raved about it, so I wanted to see if it would live up to the hype. When I first walked in I noticed a lot of friendly signs. They go out of their way to make sure that you know you are welcome. They are glad you are there, and everything is labeled well including the free lockers where you can put down your bags to go shop more easily, the childcare area, and the little cafe. The showroom is set up in two different ways, there is stuff just laid out in one area, and then there are little apartment setups. To give you a feel of what it would look like in a living space. That is the part that's kind of overwhelming yet interesting. Honestly it feels like you're walking into somebody else's apartment, who has price tags on every item in their house, and you can just say oh I like that walk up take it off the wall and put it in your shopping cart. It's a little creepy and made me feel voyeuristic. But at the same time it's really effective for helping people visualize how it might look in their home. Another aspect of it is that it says hey, why don't you just buy the whole package. It's like buying "cool" and taking it home and putting it in your apartment or living space so that you can feel cool, too. Amazing how they came up with that. Appears that there's a lot of psychology put into getting people to shop there. And obviously it's very effective. Good for them. It would take me awhile to get used to.

REVIEW On October 1, 2025, my husband and I visited the Jacksonville, Florida, IKEA to purchase an 80-inch Sektion cabinet with drawers, and it turned into a disaster. We spoke with Ikea associate Chad, who had different ideas and pretty much dismissed the design we wanted. After I told him the design was my choice, he got upset and was argumentative. I had to walk away to de-escalate the situation. It turned out he was unprofessional, and his product knowledge was lacking. Thanks for the horrible experience, lecturing, and pushing your opinion on me, the Customer. The worst experience I've had. We visited the Jax store a few months ago and spoke with an associate who was extremely helpful, but not today. Part II When we went to the checkout, we presented our IKEA Project card for payment. It was declined 5x! Even though the card had been activated and was valid until 2028. The cashier, Joy, helped us, but the issue persisted. Joy called the store manager, Irma, several times who told Joy to have us call the number on the back of the card. I called, and the system was temporarily down. Joy called Irma again, who gave me another number to call. I called and spoke to a CSR, who told me the account was showing closed. She advised that I have the store manager call and verify my ID with our Project card. Joy called Irma again, who stated that “we don’t do that.” We paid for the Items with another credit card, but wanted to leave a few items behind. This finally forced Irma to come out of her office and void the items. When I tried to talk to SV Irma and voiced my opinion about the poor response, Irma didn’t even make eye contact and couldn’t be bothered, stating repeatedly, We don’t do that in reference to the card. We know that customer Service is a thing of the past, but this was pitiful and a disgrace! We have shopped at IKEA for over 30 years in Germany, Austria, and the U.S. The JAX Ikea is the worst store we have been in, with San Antonio the best. Our house resembles an IKEA showroom, featuring a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and living room from IKEA. Unfortunately, we have seen a downward trend in all aspects, and we are pretty much done with IKEA. At least the...
