This is by far the worse Zaxby’s I’ve ever been to. I live in the area and have purchased from this location a plethora of times; this is my daughter’s go to restaurant and we are always ordering food as an after school snack or for dinner. I never leave reviews, but I’m fed up with the food and service at this location, especially because of the money that I spend there weekly! The traditional chicken wings are ALWAYS hard as a rock and over-friend, even when I say, “PLEASE DON’T FRY THE CHICKEN HARD!” A medium fry comes with the combo order, but they give you 8-10 fries and they are ALWAYS salty & soggy, even though I asked for “well-done” french fries! When I ‘go large’ and pay the extra money, I get the same amount of fries, the same way, with a gigantic soda!! My daughter orders the chicken fingers platter and she always has the same results! Several times I asked for double fries and no cole slaw. When I pull to the side of the parking lot to check the food; guess what I have? Yup! Cole slaw! And it is poorly packaged - more times than not, it’s been on the chicken and on the fries. My husband orders a chicken sandwich with cheese and no pickles. They’ll give him pickles and no cheese but charge us for the cheese! It’s ridiculous and this happens a lot!! We always order through the drive-thru, and I always, always check my bag before pulling off! Again, I’ve visited this location a numerous of times and for the most part, something is always wrong with my order and I end up going inside the restaurant. When I go inside with the complaint, one of two things happens: either they look at me like I’m crazy and turn to the cooks and mumble something as if I made the mistake or depending on who’s working and how they are feeling, I may get an apology and my order fixed. However, the point is, get it right the first time and stop clowning around! I think the prices are a bit high, but I still choose to go there, so that's on me. The reason I am marking them down now is an experience I had yesterday going through the drive-thru. After placing my order, I pulled up behind a car at the window that had 2 dogs moving about in the car and putting their heads out the driver window. I witnessed a male employee and an older female employee pet one of the dogs through the drive thru window numerous times with the dog licking all over their hands. When I got to the window to get my drink and food, the same woman who was just petting the dog handed me my drink & straw, and the man who was petting the dog was just behind her, and neither had had time to go wash their hands in the seconds since the car with the dogs had driven away. Thankfully, a nice young lady whose hand had not been seen touching the dogs handed me my food. Now, I like dogs as much as the average person, but I do not want anyone who is touching my food or the food packaging to do so with tainted hands. Read moreI rarely leave bad reviews, but my experience tonight at Zaxby’s was unacceptable. My order was messed up not once, not twice—but four separate times. I ordered a 3 Nibbler Meal with a large sweet tea, extra Zax Sauce, and a milkshake.
After going through the drive-thru, I had to go back inside because the order was completely wrong. The staff seemed more interested in hanging out at the window than actually doing their jobs. At one point, they handed our opened food to the car in front of us before realizing the mistake and giving it back to us. That alone is a huge health and safety concern.
Even after correcting the order, they still forgot my milkshake and gave me unsweetened tea instead of sweet, with no Zax Sauce despite asking for extra. I went inside to fix the order again, and still left without everything I paid for.
I’m not sure what was going on tonight, but the staff clearly wasn’t prepared or trained properly. It wasn’t even that busy—just a lack of accountability and professionalism. Frankly, some of the team members working tonight should not be scheduled together, or possibly not scheduled at all if this is the level of service being allowed.
