Came here for mother’s day for my first mother’s day as a mom and with my terminally ill mother as well. Yes it’s just mother’s day, but this mother’s day was a very sentimental mother’s day. Now on the way to the restaurant I was so excited to have shrimp. Shrimp was what I wanted It’s what i had my mind set on. So i notice they have a shrimp and steak combo so i was like wow like that sounds awesome I haven’t tried their steak yet so that’s what i ordered the LADY came and took everyone’s orders Keep in mind the other group for our table wasn’t even seated yet. So im not sure where this mess up happened at, but he read back everyone’s order n had some type of mix up with the other groups order. not sure if he messed up in his head or what. But he definitely read back shrimp and steak for my order because my shrimp craving self would’ve definitely heard him read back the wrong order. So he’s doing his thing or whatever, I notice he’s not very engaging, didn’t warn anyone that the fire was gonna go off, The other tables were filled with laughter n good energy from the chef. Ours was kind of negative and quiet. So he gives me my steak, it was amazing very happy about it. So i notice he gave everyone shrimp awesome looks good and then he realized something was off and stared to make another thing of shrimp im like okay that must be mine! Nope it was not mine/: instead he gave the “extra” shrimp to someone else n proceeded to clean up, Now I already have a very hard time with speaking up for myself, etc.. and usually i wouldn’t care but this was mother’s day.. It was my night, So i politely asked him I said, hii I ordered shrimp and steak.. he immediately got super hostile he said “when i read back your order you said this” And basically said “oh well come back tomorrow” and cleared off the grill and left.. I was super upset. I lost my appetite and went and sat in the car with my baby as for she was starting to get tired as well. And YES my receipt was charged for shrimp and steak. I will not be coming back. I understand if the lady may of misheard what i asked for, but when i was literally CHARGED for shrimp and steak and didn’t even get the shrimp out of it instead rudeness, it’s...
Read moreAwful. Frankly, I am stunned to see the volume of positive reviews here that there are. Ruined my anniversary outing, intended to be a fun night out with my wife and son, possibly the worst dining experience in decades. Rude and rush rush rush. The entire emphasis is turn the table, and get snippy if anyone interferes with their expedited timeline. From the table seater ignoring requests and clearly looking irritated when I wasn't ready, no interest in anything other than getting people seated, interact as minimally as possible, they set the tone for the evening. I went to the bar (twice) to try and get a glass of wine, as I missed my ONE opportunity at seating, but was glared at by the lady pouring drinks there. The chef was ho-hum, but I think he was reacting to my negative energy so we had sort of a RBF stand-off. He did the required/expected onion volcano thing at the beginning, but that was about it. I can say the food itself was good, although I thought I was going to choke being forced to eat it so quickly. And when finished (i.e. rushed through the check with no offer of dessert), the bussers awkwardly cleaning up around us with body language that clearly said "move along please, move along, we need this table". Which they didn't, by the way. There were as many empty tables and occupied. I recognize there may be staffing issues, but a patron should not suffer for it. The place itself is frankly feeling a little shabby, just dusty and greasy. I would say neglect from the 100% focus on turning tables. In the end, I'd say I went (on recommendation, surprisingly) as a party of 3, and paid $95 for hibachi fast food with a side of extreme frustration. I will never spend another nickel in this place, and will make every effort to share this message with anyone who...
Read moreDaruma is a beyond great. It is an excellent Japanese Steak House with good, friendly and attentive staff. From the moment you enter they ensure that you have a great experience. It is a wonderful place for a single person, a couple, or multiple people to dine. The staff are constantly on top of your needs. Also if you or whom ever is with you has an allergy to any food, simply let the waitress know and your dish will be prepared separately in the back kitchen area to eliminate any possible cross contamination. Their chefs are amazing,.They are great to watch. They are skilled and at times very humorous. The food is outstanding and invigorating. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. The portions are quite large and on top of that clear soup and a salad is included with your meal. They provide chopsticks by request. Their hot green tea as well as their sweet iced tea are vey good. A limited dessert menu is available and if you request they do birthday's too, which include a small celebration and an amazing slice of New York Cheesecake. You will most likely be bringing home leftovers. They also have a sushi bar as well as an a bar for adult beverages. They serve a variety of soft drinks and adultbeverages. If you do consume alcohol they do have a nice selection including Japanese beer and hot sake. The patrons are very friendly as well. I have talked with several people sitting at the same hibachi table as my children and I and have a had good conversations and if your not the type to talk then no one will disturb you. Everyone is polite and courteous. The ambience is one of a kind. I will say that for me it is a bit on the expensive side at all little more $20 per person on average, but you get what you pay for and it is definitely worth it in my book. If nothing else you should at...
