First time here. Sitting in the place as I post this. One small table outside. All I wanted was to sit outside (literally 5ft away from the front door) manager or what appeared to be the one in charge quickly states that he does not have a waiter for that table. There is not one table folks. And I'm by myself. Don't even need any refills. Yet he looks me and n the eye and shows no sign of customer service. I get it, get them in get them out. Generate revenue. However, CUSTOMER SERVICE goes a long way in this area with all of the competition. Whoa?!?!?! And then a guy goes out and sits down. Waiters rush to take care of him. Why, he is one of the owners. Wow. Big black eye on this place. Now I just hope the food is good. Looks good but already a bad taste in my mouth. (The waitress was sweet and awesome). This will most likely be brushed off. Maybe in some small way, they will rethink customer service approach. Food was delicious. Waiters/waitresses very awesome. Thank you! Owners Son, go get some customer Service training. Never forget, take care of those that take care of you (I.e. Me, the customer) Will I be back? With so many options and better service (relating to the owner in this situation) I probably will not make this one of my options. Y'all should try it and form your own opinion.

I was a little unsure if this would be what I was looking for but on Mothers Day weekend, my daughter -n- love and I visited this after a Dr. Apt that had brought us to Jacksonville. We like to support local business when we can and this little diner was a treat. Jamie was our waitress she was very knowledgeable about the menu and super friendly. I had the Mediterranean omelet and it was absolutely delicious. The pancakes smelled amazing though I admit I did not partake, I returned to Oceana on my last visit but they were closed on Tuesday so I did not get to enjoy it a second time. I will be trying to see Jamie again when I am next in Jax.

This little diner puts out some seriously good food. Traditional diner fare with a few unexpected, pleasant surprises. By far, the best I have had in many years in NE. FL. Their burgers are cooked to perfection, juicy and have a great taste. Fries very hot and crispy, but not overcooked. These places that advertise the "best" burgers (Jax has plenty of them) and charge you a lot of $$$ for tasteless, hockey pucks, can take lessons from their cook. Fish and chips best in Jax. Very, very light coating, just fried to a light, golden brown. It was not that thick, greasy coating that most places have to over-fry to get it all cooked and you have to peel it off to get a taste of the fish which ends up being grease logged. The Chicken Salad has a great taste, not overly seasoned and made fresh. Not dripping in a watery, mayonnaise or dressing with very little chicken breast which has become the norm lately. Plus there was plenty of it on the sandwich, contrary to the Famous "chicken salad place" that I won't mention the name of, that you can see the bread through the salad because of how little chicken salad is on the sandwich. The service was great. Our server was attentive and nice. I noticed she was the same with everyone. She made sure people had what they needed, when they needed it. The cook was terrific as all the food was totally awesome. Was told by another customer that I need to try their breakfast. When I asked which one was good, his reply "all of them." He said "you won't be disappointed." This is now one of my go to places for any...

Since a restuarant is only as good as its food I have to give this place two stars. Ordered chipped beef/toast and hashbrowns from the waitress. My order is brought to the table by the cook, shows up as chipped beef/toast and French fries. Ate one of the fries and it had a strong fish flavor, yuck, so I only ate one. Tried the chipped beef - it wasn't made with the chipped beef that you would get at most places. It tasted like the sandwich beef that you buy in the really small bags at Walmart for a dollar. The white gravy that it was in tasted like straight flour. As I was eating it the waitress brought me my hashbrowns because she noticed I had been brought fries by mistake. Mentioned to the waitress that the fries tasted like fish and she replied that they are cooked in the same oil. The hashbrowns were overcooked on the outside, but undercooked on the inside. Ate most of them because I was hungry. Left her a good tip. Don't think I will be back to this place due to in my opinion it was a low...
