What do you think of this bill? We visited for my third time since and my moms probably 10th+ visit in 4 months because their chicken tenders were delicious and the batter was delicious. HOWEVER, this visit the chicken was slimy not just moist, also every time we split the tenders because they are huge, not once have we been charged for splitting the meal. The tenders are $10.66 and because we wanted a split meal they put a 40% split charge of $4.26 which had I known that I would have gladly just ordered a whole entree. The waitress mentioned nothing of the sort that there was a charge especially of this stature. I brought it up to her she got her manager in which she explained it was because we both got our individual side portions of fries…. That’s fine but speak up and say “do you want a seperate plate or do you want your own side for 40% additional”. I asked for it to be removed from the bill kindly and that we know for next time but the wait staff should be trained to bring that up if that’s the policy. The manager refused to remove it from the bill. Needless to say this lack of customer service especially from a manager cost them customers just based on principle we will not be back and over the course of 6 months we have referred at least 20 friends there, good word travels fast in our circle just as well as bad service. In a small town especially the smartest way to handle this within the hospitality industry specifically would of just said “you’re right she should of said something to you and I will train my staff and take that off your bill” The manager and owner should be thinking of LTV (life time value) not AOV (average order value). This is especially true in a small town where people talk about good and bad experiences and word travels very, very fast

I went to explore the new remodel. It is great to see the investment in a well known local pub, but with a fresh approach to service. My chicken wrap was excellent. Flavor full and included all the extras. The fish fry was a big plate for just a 2 piece meal. I’ll be back to support the team.

I originally had posted Bazinga as a three star, and it looks like they are on top of any small issues you may have here, where as a small business owner myself I think is a huge key to success.

I personally don't come here too often, but have frequented in the past. My Mama comes here a lot for Fish Fry on Fridays and to just have a drink occasionally I'm sure 😅 however the day we came and got both fish (fried and baked) I had issues with my friend fish being greasy and mushy, and then had issues with the baked fish being hard enough to not be able to cut with a knife. As someone who worked in a bar industry I get stuff happens, it's no big deal, however when addressing the issue to the bartender/hostess peoples, I was disappointed in just the response given back seemed negative. I mentioned it felt like they say under a heat lamp because the skin was so wet and mushy, and then proceeded to show the server. I think at that point the only response would be when seeing that is "I'm sorry let me get that fixed for you" not "no, those came up fresh" and other comments that made it seem as if I didn't know what I was talking about.

Fast forward as I've mentioned I used to frequent here and the bowling alley next door. I have never had an issue with the food outside of today. I don't feel like I ever had an issue with a staff member either. I just like giving honest feedback where needed and what I assume is the Owner (Brian) personality reached out to me to ask what happened and what he can do to fix it.

I want nothing, because what he did by reaching out after seeing my review shows that the place cares about its customers and it's quality of food by just doing something that simple as less than 10 minutes over the phone to collect the issue I had, and assure me it will get addressed.

Again outside of all these, The bartenders and servers are always bubbly when I have been there, the food 99% of the other times being there have absolutely been great, this was an edited review as I spoke before I will still come back and that holds true, it's just I've decided to give them the full 5 stars because someone took the time to hear a complaint instead of brushing it off or telling them they are wrong.

Constructive criticism is always big in the world. When an elderly lady tells you there's something wrong, have the courtesy to take just a moment to take it more serious. I get some people may have a bad day, I have personally seen how short staffed a kitchen can get and food not come out to the quality it usually was. I think the only thing that can change here is a better empathetic approach to a customer with what they feel is a real issue instead of feeling rushed and lowered about their opinion.

Thanks Brian for reaching out and hearing me out about the small issue I had here. That is amazing. The only thing that would have made this easier is leaving contact info on the reply of my original review, as I was unsure if I was suppose to call the bar or come in etc. but that was handled within 24 hours (on a weekend on a Sunday) kudos to you for handling business...

Went for Friday fish fry on 9-6-19. We had a larger group (7people) i tried to call in advance to make a reservation but was told they dont do that. We get there put our name on the list and settle in for the wait. The girl couldn’t give us any idea of how long it would be. The bar table in the pool room was open so we settled in ordered drinks and waited, and waited and waited. I then asked the girl taking names if she had an idea how long it would be. She didnt. I finally asked one of the bartenders if we could just eat at the table we were at, she said she would ask. When she asked the person (manager?) said no. No explanation was given as to why we couldn't eat there. I know in the past we had eaten at the big bar table in the main area (nobody was eating there either) we opted to leave.

The drinks where awesome (apple pie old fashioned).

It’s really too bad cuz in the past we have had pretty good fish there!

We stopped in Aug 10th for burgers and the buns were really soggy, we didn’t complain at all thinking it was just a fluke!

Not sure if you have to be a regular or what!!

Thank you for your response Brian! Well will most certainly try again in the future! It’s good to have an explanation of why we couldnt eat...
