Edit 2/7/25. Went in for lunch. Same issues as 6 years ago. Great staff. Food was well cooked. I ordered a a reuben. It was beautiful. The corned beef was tasty. The bread was good too. The cheese ruined the sandwich. I don't think it was Swiss. There was too much cheese and very creamy. Like American slices wrapped in plastic. Very little sauerkraut. Not a great sandwich. Also had the beef vegetable soup. Broth was good but it was full of overcooked peas. I'm not a fan. My husband got a mushroom omelet. He said it was cooked well but the mushrooms were very slimy. Not sure if they were canned. I only got one cup of coffee. I could have liked more. I was asked if I wanted a second cup as we were getting ready to leave. Otherwise the waitress was lovely. They also have a 3% surcharge for using a card. It seems the quality of ingredients are not the best. It's too bad. It's a lovely restaurant.
We were very excited to try Eagle Inn for the first time. I called to ask about their specials. The woman on the phone was courteous and helpful. We arrived at the busy restaurant and were immediately seated. The waitress was very good, took our order for the Prime Rib, and left us the menus to look over since it was our first time. Our food arrived quickly. I had the soup and it was tasty but small. Shortly arrived the Prime rib. It was large and cooked med/rare like I had asked. The meat was cold. It was half inedible gristle and fat. It tastes good but we're Disappointed! My husband's mashed potatoes tasted sweet. Mine were good. Did not care for the cooked carrots. We did, however, care for our waitresses wonderful and friendly service and the restaurants family atmosphere. I also forgot to mention how clean everything was. Very impressed. We're on the fence about going back. Something tells me that our experience with the food was a fluke, though. Everyone I ask loves Eagle Inn....
Read moreMy boyfriend and I had the extreme misfortune of choosing Eagle Inn Family Restaurant for our Sunday morning brunch. I ordered a salad with blue cheese dressing. The dressing delivered was instead ranch, with chunks of feta. Our waitress was very busy with a table of senior citizens, so she didn’t have a chance to check on us. After waiting a considerable amount of time, we finally got up to pay our bill. The owner was at the cash register with his son. I mentioned that they brought the wrong salad dressing, and as such, I was not able to eat my salad. The owner (known hereafter as Mr. Nasty) became enraged, and accused us of trying to get free food. His face was twisted with wrath and insanity, his persona seething with inappropriate hostility. He was loud and abusive. The restaurant was packed, so it was quite embarrassing to have him make a huge loud scene. I was speechless, since I have never been treated this way, in any restaurant, ever. Mr. Nasty shouted at us, demanding we leave, or be escorted out. He looked like a big fat jack-o-lantern, dripping with sweat and misanthropy. I just looked at him, slack jawed in utter disbelief at his big psychotic temper tantrum in front of God and everybody. Mr. Nasty: You need anger management and serious psychiatric help right away. You are teaching your teenaged son to treat others disrespectfully, which is very sad. Moreover, I caution you never to come within 500 yards of us; I will summon law enforcement or use pepper spray, whichever is faster. Needless to say, we shall never eat at Eagle Inn Family Restaurant ever again. I strongly urge anyone reading this review not to patronize this wretched establishment, as you risk being cheated and verbally abused if you voice any complaints. I won’t let it ruin my day though; I am too...
Read moreMy husband got the French dip but was disappointed because it wasn’t as good as he’d hoped. He said it was a little dry. He liked the fries though.
My granddaughter had the kids short stack of very berry pancakes. The amount of food she received was more than enough than she could eat. She loved them. She also ordered a hot chocolate with whipped cream. Her drink was more than enough for her, she wasn’t able to finish it.
My grandson had the kids hamburger with just ketchup and pickles and fries. The hamburger was a very large portion for a kid. He liked the burger and fries. He also had a side cup of fruit. He received a very large portion of mixed fruit that was a mix of bananas, blackberries, blueberries, cantaloupe, and strawberries. The fruit was very fresh and looked really good.
I had a cup of beef vegetable soup. The soup was good, not homemade, but good. I liked that it had roast or brisket in it. I also ordered the loaded American fries without onions. I was disappointed! My American fries had more onions than potatoes. I don’t generally send food back because I’ve had a bad experience doing that. Needless to say I had to pick out a lot of onions. I spent most of our dinner picking them out.
The hostess and waitress were very attentive and nice. My coffee was always full and warm. The restaurant was clean and so were the bathrooms. I think we went at the wrong time on a Friday night though. We were one of the only families with kids there. The older people dining in the restaurant were put off by the kids. I understand my son was crabby, but he’s also 5, he was...
