Cousins Subs — Restaurant in Janesville

411pm on a Tuesday, 2 people working which I found to be sufficient. We ordered our shakes right away so they could be made. One person was ahead of us waiting for their food while we were ordering. We had a coupon to buy two subs and two sides and get a third sub for free. We ordered our subs and the side of soup and a side of macaroni and cheese. We waited over 30 minutes to get our food to go. Four people came through the drive-thru. They received their food before us. When they finally brought us our subs they forgot the soup. We asked where our shakes were and she said she forgot to put those in the order even though it's the first things we ordered. They ran out of ingredients to make the orange Shake. We had to reorder our shakes why are mac and cheese and soup got . This is when the 4th drive-thru person came. I think there might have been a third person taking orders somewhere else but we never saw them. Finally got to the car at 458 p.m.

Took the food home. The noodles in the mac and cheese were spiral and they were about a minute undercooked. The white cheddar was pretty good though. Two of the subs were the Italian add pickles and Mayo and no oil. They added the pickle but did not put on the mayo and gave us oil anyway. My friend told me the meatball sub was very good. My mint shake was also very good.

I did not like the fact that they kept putting our order on hold when we were taking it to go, they were putting drive- through first, they could do much better at multitasking. They were most definitely not busy and I think that they should have handled their customer base a lot better than they did. We could have went to Jimmy John's pretty much across the street and been in and out of that place within 7 minutes with the correct food. This was our first time at cousins, they lost my future business. Not just because of slow and incorrect service but also because the menu isn't very large. 1st time I was at a Cousins Subs since they closed down here 20 some years ago. Back then the subs were horrible. Only thing decent was the bread, meatballs tasted like cardboard. Got the same thing a few weeks later when I tried them again.

Fast forward to 2025 and a new store. Got a turkey/ham sub. Was very good. Good staff. Honestly I didnt have much expectations that Cousins had changed from the way they were back in the early 2000's, but had to try them again to see if they changed. Oh how they did change...

It is great to have a Cousin’s subs back in Janesville again. And quite frankly I think they are better now than they ever have been. Excellent food, excellent attention from the staff, and a great overall experience.
