El Jardin Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Janesville

I'm sorry but the food was really bad, like insultingly bad.

We had ordered this for delivery once and it was really good that time, I'm not sure why it was so bad this time. We had decided to try it for dine-in for the first time.

The beef taco had no seasoning, really flavorless and was barely warm with wet lettuce. My wife's steak tacos were swimming in cilantro and the meat was large chewy pieces.

I had to ask 3 times for the cheese dip, which came after the main food and when we got it it was ice cold.

The pomegranate margarita tasted like orange and lime, not pomegranate.

We tried a bite of everything but we just couldn't eat it. If it was at least mediocre I would have just eaten it. I absolutely hate to ask for a refund, I'm non confrontational, and I feel bad for asking, but it was bad enough that I did.

We got our money back but only after they tried to charge for the $10 margarita that was too bad to drink, plus a soda we didn't even order. This was a mix up, which they resolved eventually and they waved the full bill, but not before the guy up front got upset when I said "what the hell" to the soda charge.

He was more concerned with the bad word I said once than the fact that the food wasn't edible or that we never ordered a soda he still wanted too charge me for.

The guy made the whole thing really uncomfortable, it made my wife who struggles with eating out very uncomfortable. It was like he was trying to make us feel bad for the food and service we received and then gaslight me.

Again they eventually waved the full bill, but wow that was an awkward and unenjoyable experience. We were really looking forward to...

I work in a big warehouse and an employee was leaving. it was his last day. we called el jardin the day before gave the order for 15 people. the order came to $20 more then we had been qouted, some people paid and were qouted for dinner meals and got lunch orders, One persons order was missing completely and when we called to check into the missing order they told us that "We had recieved everything and that we werent getting anything else from them".

the food for our lunch party was overpriced from the qoute given and food was missing and not what was ordered. Their excuse was that two schools had showed up to order from them and another company had ordered as well. However thats not acceptable. this resturaunt couldnt handle the size of this order. they also had terrible customer service and overcharged for the items recieved compared to the menu prices.

Completely unacceptable. I will never to to this resturaunt again. I dont think you should iether. Us customers deserve better treatment from resturaunts that we decide to order from. El Jardin's did not...

This place used to be the best authentic Mexican restaurant in Janesville. Unfortunately their business has gone extremely downhill. My family and I took my mother out for her birthday. It was one of her favorite spots. The service was terrible. I felt like they were going out of their way to give us bad service. Our waiter pointed out that we needed more chips and salsa only to not return until our dinner was out. When we asked for more water, they gave us more chips. When we asked for more green salsa, they came out with two red. The appetizer came out with no plates to share. When we asked for plates, the waiter snapped “those are coming”. They never came. The dish my mother ordered, which is known as the spiciest dish on the menu, was so bland it would make you want to get tested for Covid. The staff was extremely rude at every request. Often nodding and walking away without acknowledging the things we needed. Sad to see a business that was once a favorite spot for my family to dine change so bad...
