We decided to eat here on Friday because Old Mulehouse had an hour wait and they said they could seat us immediately. We were say in the back bar area because they didn't want to add a chair to a four top. No problem for us but it was a problem for the server.
We ordered drinks (soda and water) within 5 minutes as well as apps. When the server came back we ordered our meals: 2 pasta dishes, 1 Stromboli and 2 calzones. We were talking so we didn't realize it took 35 minutes to get our apps (fried pickles and mozzarella sticks). We told the guy (not our server) who served them we'd forgotten we ordered them because they took so long. At least they were hot.
Our server came back to get us fresh drinks and said oh I'm glad someone brought your apps, they put me outside with a party of 30. After another 45 minutes we got our food... AFTER the table beside us that came in right before we got our apps. The pasta dishes were served 5 or so minutes before the Stromboli & calzones. The pasta was lukewarm when we were served because it was placed in cold dishes. My shrimp scampi was oily and the shrimp tough. My daughter's pasta sauce was watery possibly from the staff not draining the noodles properly. We both only agree 2 or 3 bites.
The calzones and Stromboli were good, hot and crispy.
We were never checked on after our food was served except to drop the bill but then server never came back to take the payment. I had to stand at the bar to try to get the bill paid. The manager came over and I told her about the pasta which she comped. But she tried to say the wait was because they were busy. This might have been true IF WE CAME IN AFTER THEY GOT BUSY but when we arrived half the restaurant was empty & we ordered quickly.
Since my daughter and I didn't eat our pasta and were still hungry we went to Old Mulehouse to have apps & a drink at the bar. Kind of sad that we spent almost 2 hours at I Love NY Pizza when we could have just waited at Old Mulehouse since we ended up...
Read moreTruly a horrible experience. Probably the worst in a restaurant that I have ever had. There were three people supposedly "serving" in the restaurant, and probably 7 tables with people ordering. You do the math folks, but that ratio doesn't seem unreasonable to me. Still, it took over 40 minutes to order, and another HOUR+ to get our food.
The kicker to me was the server telling us, "it's not your fault." SERIOUSLY?!? Thank you Captain Obvious. We ordered food. At a restaurant. How could it POSSIBLY be OUR FAULT?!? And THEN the longest string of sorry excuses that really didn't consist of anything more than supposedly "everyone came in and started ordering takeout at the same time." Except at NO POINT did I see a server answer the phone or anyone pick up their takeout the ENTIRE time I was there and we sat right across from the cashier and phone.
As an olive branch (if you can call it that) he didn't charge us for my son's cider and gave us a 15% discount because he said he couldn't do more without raising "a red flag." This was almost comical to me since he had 7 tables worth of "red flags" steaming wondering what alternate reality they had stepped in. But the absolute straw that broke the camel's back for me was when he asked for my payment before the food came (we had finally asked for take out boxes 30 minutes before since it had taken so long). So I paid before I ever received our food. The meatballs also came out right after I asked for everything to just be boxed up, so those were ice cold since the food took another half hour.
Never again. I have been there multiple times before, and was never thoroughly impressed, but came back because it was convenient and the food was decent. But I would have saved time driving to...
Read moreWent to I ❤️ NY pizza in Jasper today for our weekly trip. Ordered the pizza we wanted. When it came out the waiter leaned over and her hair was in the pizza as she bent over to put it on the table. Well, I pointed it out to her and she said “do you want it?”, to which I replied, “not after your hair has been in it. So she took it back to the kitchen and the (I guess it was the lady manager) came out and ask if we still wanted the pizza we ordered and said that she would remake it. I expressed concern that they would bring the same pizza back out. She said I promise you it won’t be the same pizza. About 10 minutes later she brought a pizza out, and I know she had not had time to remake a pizza and run it through the oven. She put it on the table and said “be careful, it’s hot”. That pizza was barely warm. It was, what I think was, the same pizza. By this time I was just shocked that she would have the nerve to bring the same pizza to our table after it had been touched by the waiters long hair. Why no hair restraints? If you can’t be trusted to remake a pizza, then proceed to lie about it and pretend you remade it, how can we trust you with our future orders? Guess what? We will find another pizza place closer to home. We drive from Fairmount to eat pizza there at least once a week, but we won’t anymore. Learn to be trustworthy. It pays in the...
