Let me start by helping their case by saying that we were a table of 8 that got there at 8. But... Before we even got seated, a party of 6 walked out and told us "Good Luck". Not understanding at the time, we patiently waited to be seated. When we got our table, it seemed like it was going to be a good visit. Well... That didn't last long. After the waitress got our drinks and took our orders, everything seemed to crumble. About 20 minutes after ordering, the waitress came out and told us that they were out of salad, chili, Mac and cheese and baked potato. She asked several of us who ordered one of those items what we would like to substitute and returned to the kitchen. 4 of us had adult beverages. I had a simple beer and the others selected a drink from their specialty menu. Before they even brought out the food, my brother asked for another cocktail and was told the bar was closed. We would have thought the staff would have inquired and informed that the bar was closing, but I guess that's just what I would have done if the rolls were reversed. 20 minutes after that debacle, the waitress returned with food. All of the food looked day old. One of my brothers ordered a smoked turkey sandwich that he couldn't even chew, my sister inlaw's brisket fries tasted like someone dumped a salt container on them. They somehow found Mac and cheese for two of our party and decided to substitute fries for EVERYONE, instead of the alternative side they requested. The brisket I ordered was so poorly done that I had to put BBQ sauce on it just for it to taste good. And in my personal opinion, brisket should require nothing if prepared well. But before we could even eat, my sister in-law went and found silverware for us when our waitress disappeared. All in all, I will not be returning, or giving them a second shot. The disappointing first impression does not give me faith that a second chance would be any better. Two thumbs down from me, sixteen thumbs down from our party of 8.
I did forget to mention that two of us are Paramedics/Deputies and when we saw an elderly lady having what appeared to be a medical issue, we attempted to assist. Turns out the bar WAY over served her and she was blitzed off her rocker... Completely FUBAR. They can over serve an elderly lady, but can't offer refills before they close the...
Read moreLove Jim ' Nick's! I like to go here after church on Sundays. Wait time is usually not really bad, maybe 5-10 minutes. The hostess staff are super nice and usually ask if you want a booth or table, if they're both available. The wait staff are extremely pleasant, too. We've gotten into some very interesting conversations with our waitresses before, like where their accent is from, where THEY'RE from, etc. Always nice and friendly and not put off by interesting questions at all. It's waitresses like these that we don't mind leaving a nice tip to! The pulled pork sandwich, on just a regular bun, is wonderful and they have these shoe-string french fries that go great with it. My husband usually gets the sliced turkey platter with fries and baked beans, which are out of this world!! And I know this is going to sound crazy but they have the BEST sweet tea ever!! I would go through the drive-thru just for their sweet tea!! The restaurant itself is always clean, meaning if french fries are dropped on the floor by a small child (or clumsy adult : ) ), they're swept up right after the customers leave in preparations for the next customers coming in. Nice, huh? No mashed french fries on your shoes!! Sometimes, you'll get a visit from the manager, just asking if everything is alright...your meal, how it was cooked, how it was served, if the waitress was cordial, etc. We have been pleasantly surprised that we've never had anything to complain about or had an issue with. That's why keep going back...the hospitality, the cleanliness, the atmosphere...
Read moreWe came in to eat dinner for our son's 18th birthday. His choice for dinner! When we sat down our server came over and told us he was going to take our order, but he wanted us to know that he was new just in case he made a mistake when he brought them back. Ok, no problem. It took a while to get 4 drinks and then he came back about 15 minutes later with cheese biscuits and took our order. Everything seemed fine. He came by about 4-5 times saying it shouldn't be much longer and brought more cheese biscuits, when we stopped and asked him. We heard several people seated around us asking him about their orders, but they were finally brought their food. After about 45 minutes later we had not seen our waiter? We waited and waited, no refills on drinks...nothing! It was getting late...830 ish. He finally appeared at our table and said... Folks, remember I told y'all I was new. Well, I forgot to put your order in. They are going to whip something up real quick, but I'm not sure if you will be able to get exactly what your ordered. We will be closing soon. My husband was furious! He said.. we are leaving!! This is ridiculous!! We offered to pay for our drinks and the biscuits and he said no. My husband told the manager as we left, he asked if we would come back another time and he could make it up. I don't think so! Birthday dinner ruined!! If you go here, keep your eyes on your waiter and for the love, speak up and ask if you've been waiting a while!...
