My Wife and I came here for breakfast this morning and she ordered Eggs Benedict that was disgusting. Rubbery "Canadian Bacon" and it came out rather cold. Her potatoes looked like they were frozen and microwaved, but maybe they were just that undercooked in the fryer. Either way, she took a couple bites and left it. I ordered a basic 2 eggs with hashbrowns & toast with a side of bacon. We each had coffee. That all came to $37 and I left a $6 tip. A bit expensive for very poorly executed food, but if done right, ok sure.
Anyway, I went to pay with cash and the bill in hand. I gave it to the girl at the register and before she rang it up and gave me the change, she asked me how my meal was. I explained that my Wife had an issue with her egg's benedict, She apologized and told me that a discount or comp was probably in order but she needed to get her manager. I told her that it was a nice gesture, but I would pay for it.
She insisted and got the manager. When the manager came he first asked me, "what's the problem?" (poor choice of words with an attitude, but ok). I told him that my Wife didn't like the food and barely touched it. He asked what was wrong with the food and I told him. Then the guy tells me, "Ok, what do you want me to do about it?". Like, Dude, I didn't ask for a discount or even complain until your host asked me how my meal was. She offered and wanted to ask a manager for a comp or discount, and being someone that is familiar with the hospitality industry, it was the correct move.
Long story short, he told me I should of complained to the server and then they may have given us something different. I just paid the balance like I intended to from the beginning and he didn't comp the dish or discount it. I'm leaving two stars for good service by the server and politeness on behalf of the hostess. I did not appreciate that the manager treated me like I intended to get something free or I was to get a free lunch, nor did I appreciate the attitude. Especially since I didn't even ask for the review of my bill, I just wanted to pay my bill and I probably wouldn't order that dish again. Now, I probably will not return and I'm leaving a bad review. Nor will I recommend this place, which practically has a monopoly on simple 24 diner space on the Westside. The food is gross for the price. Over cooked bacon, half way cold when you get it and then even after you don't complain and pay, you get some BS from...
Read moreWARNING! DO NOT EAT HERE. They run a scam as the waitress gave me a bill as me and my 82 year mother went to the resister to pay. The cashier switched the bill to another ticket of 12 dollars more. When I asked the cashier why she switched the ticket...she very rudely answered " we gave you the wrong bill and now pay the bill". My 82 year mother asked to see the menu again to add up what we ordered to make sure the totals were accurate on the now $12 more bill. Again very rudely the cashier answered " NO"!. I told the cashier, a chunky women with black hair, that she didn't have to be so rude as to the fact it was not our fault a "possible" mistake was made on the bill. Once again her rude reply was " I don't care pay me". My mother pleaded with this cashier again to show us a menu so we may go over the pricing again. After all the bait and switch routine occurred at the resister without any remorse or explanation to me and my 82 year old mother. Well once again the cashiers attitude lit up like a bobcat getting a bath. " Pay me my money and get out of my store now!" , was her reply. We paid to avoid getting my 82 year mother upset and started to make our way out the door while this chunky cashier still displaying her temperament to us. How appalling and inexcusable this is for anyone to treat customers and behave in such a shocking manner especially to an 82 year old women. The cashier was amusing the cooks and other waitresses , who were notably standing around her goofing around , with her repeating to them her handling of the situation as me and my 82 year mother were existing the restaurant. It is very possible we will be seeking litigation against this establishment for their questionable buisness practices and upsetting intentionally an 82 year old frail women. This cashier along with the waitress should be immediately terminated without haste. I asked the cashier for her name and her respond was " I don't have to give it to you". Shameful display of unprofessional and questionable business practices were exhibited and displayed against me and my 82 year old mother. Time of occurrence...
Read moreIn my experience, quick fast food. Food might be a bit bland, beside the M-F special of 7.99, prices compared to food quality is a bit unreasonable. My stars go for the food quality and the following. One afternoon while I was eating with my girlfriend at Golden Nugget we noticed a gentleman in the kitchen wearing a distinct uniform, all white clothing with no hat. Caught us off guard but continued, no biggie. I then saw him squeeze in between spaces of where most of the kitchen appliances are looking towards the ground, as if he was spraying something. I then saw what looked to be a Fertilizer Sprayer from his right hand. I then looked at my girlfriend and said "Could it be?" She then pointed out that the gentleman in white was doing multiple spraying in certain areas and happen to be wearing a uniform with a patch of ORKIN. We then learned the restaurant was undergoing a pest control treatment during normal operating hours while cooks were still getting orders out. From my little knowledge of pest control I know most professional treatments/pest control contain toxic chemicals for humans which was being sprayed near other humans and in the same proximity of food. I was disgusted and thats when my girlfriend told me to just head to start our day in the city. Did not leave a note or comment, the restaurant should know better. I acknowledge the restaurant is 24/7 operation but at least find a way to close shop for a bit to take control of a problem that shouldn't be a problem in the first place, well just don't resolve it in plain view...
