Met dozens of incredibly kind, friendly and talented people. From special transportation support, to grips, camera operators, set decorators, carpenters, kraft services, hair, makeup, it was clear this is a collection of folks who love what they do and take a lot of pride in their product, which is making features and shows. Each were super friendly and eager to discuss their craft or trade. And they all had really cool stories to tell about past productions and what keeps them excited about coming to work each day, even at 4am call times.
The set pieces truly transport you inside the world you only get to experience from a tv or movie screen. It is just as believable in real life as over the air. The sheer amount of work required to make these productions is evident in the size and scale of the facility. While there are numerous offices, stages, warehouses and workspaces, the size and scale of each are jaw-dropping. By taking over the old Marshall Field warehouse complex, the studio encompasses a never-ending amount of cavernous space to host, house and produce anything from feature films to tv series.
