Never been here before. Had miso soup. I had it once before somewhere else and wasn't a fan. But here, it was absolutely delicious and perfect on a cold, rainy day like.
The sauce for the Crab Rangoon was sweet, but not overwhelming, and tasted of apricots. At least that's what I thought. When I asked, I was assured there was no apricot in it . It was just Thai Chili Sauce. Try it for yourself and let me know what you think.
The wanton wrappers were thin and delicate, but very crispy. And the filling was rich and creamy.
The chicken wings were small, but surprisingly tasty. The sauce had a mild bbq flavor with notes of pineapple or oranges which was complimented well by the the fresh lemon wedge they gave me.
I asked the server about the size of the wings. She said they intentionally picked small wings because the sauce was able to permeate throughout the chicken, giving every morsel a generous coating of flavor. And she was right! It's not always about the amount, but it is always about the taste. The sauce even kicks up the flavor of the shaved carrots and cabbage served with the wings.
But the best part was the Beef Teriyaki Bento Box. Shrimp and Vegetable Tempera. The vegetables were tender and not overcooked.
Same for the shrimp. The batter looked thick, but was light and fluffy. The sushi rolls were light and creamy. The Teriyaki sauce was thin, but was extremely flavorful. And the coleslaw had a peanut sauce on it that knocked me completely out.
I wanted to try the mango pudding, but couldn't eat another bite. So I got an order to go. I'll let you know how it was at another time 😉.
I will definitely come here again. Worth...
Read moreIt was ok. Nothing spectacular, good food, OK price, but I wouldn't go out of my way again for it, only if you're craving some Chinese food right off the blue line. There sushi rolls seemed small, like a fridged grocery store, but made there. Almost like it you got a roll fresh before it was wrapped and sent to a store to be left on the fridged shelf for 2 days. The Ramen wasn't anything to brag about, it lacked selection and promise. They only had 1 selection and that was a shame. The broth was milky but way to salty for my taste (I know that most ramen broth is high in sodium, but this was up there), I would suggest asking for some extra hot water to dilute it to your taste. There noodles seemed like the dry noodles you get from a ramen cup, wavey and curly, and nothing spectacular. There pork was a miss for me as well, it wasn't tender and juicy, instead it seemed over cooked, tough, and dried out. Everything tasted OK, and I was satisfied, if I was dragged here with friends and I craved ramen, this would scratch that itch, but only for a little until it comes back twice as itchy. They also make mock cocktails for your BYOB booze. They make it super sugary, like liquid candy thick, enough to put a couple shots in there. However, they only had a selection of only 1, which was...
Read moreWent there for the first time @ Addison and ?Damen location. It smelled a bit off walking in the door, plus old grease\oil when like when a fryer isn't kept up. I was a bit skeptical when I viewed some of the fish at the sushi bar, alot of it was covered up and poorly lit. I sat down and ordered Gyoza and similiar to dragon roll with unagi on top. Mind you I prefer sashimi, straight up from quality places but figured I would start with easy mode. The Gyoza was passable, oily, with again a taste of old oil. Then the roll came, it looked disgusting, they tried to cover up all the unagi but it was limp, looked old, tasted absolutely disgusting. Inedible. My friend ordered a custom roll with all cooked ingredients, hard to jack up. He LOVES grocery store sushi and couldn't eat this. Refused to refund us....
