There only a few places that give me a WOW factor when I look at my food before I eat it. Sandy's is definitely one of those places. The Ćevapi is a staple that I typically bring home ready to cook. but once and a while I have them whip up a batch freshly cooked off the grill. This mixed with lepinja and kaymak really ties everything together for a perfect lunch or dinner. I recently tried the Čvarci (pork cracklings) It practically melted in my mouth... They are very addictive though...But the thing that stole the show.... the MASSIVE Pleskavici off the grill is what I cant find anywhere else. I am a big guy.... this burger makes me feel like taking a happy, mid afternoon nap after being in a pleasant food coma. :-) Highly recommend Sandy's to anyone passing through in the Jefferson Park area. I try to visit as often as possible to support a local business.

Went to Sandy’s for lunch and I was not disappointed. I had a donut as an appetizer, and ordered “Sandy’s Burger” for lunch. I was a little surprised by the higher price, but then I realized the reason for it. The burger is positively massive. It’s easily twice or even three times the size of a normal burger. The third picture has my hand for scale, and honestly it doesn’t do the size justice. I ate until a couldn’t have another bite and I wasn’t even half way done. It was delicious, the meat was beautifully cooked, juicy, and flavorful. It came with a side of roasted potatoes which were also great. Not sure if the portion size was meant for a family and got lost in translation or what, but either way I recommend you check out Sandy’s!

We've had Sandy's starred for awhile now, and they didn't disappoint! We had the cevapi, sopska salad, and gibanica. Everything was excellent, gibanica was new to us, and not sure where it's been our whole life, but would order again and again. Sandy's was incredibly clean and organized (honestly one of the best grocery/restaurants set-ups we've ever been to). They even had the 1.5 liter? sized Fanta Shokata Elderberry, which we would have gotten if we weren't headed to a concert (though Cockta is great as well). Service was fast, there was no tip on the meal, FYI. Got some Jaffa cakes on the way out too. Highly recommend, will be back:)

Sandy’s has delicious home-cooked food and many prepared foods ready to go. If you have not had Serbian cevaps- get some fresh and grill or fry them up at home. You will not be disappointed. The pjeskavica (Serbian Hamburger) feeds 2 or 3 people as a dine in option for @ $18. The homemade bread (pogacha).... once you take a bite you can’t stop eating it. Sandy’s also has a large selection of European wines, liquors and groceries. Don't miss this gem!

This is the only place my family and I go to for Balkan Serbian food. Went to pick our my roasted pork and lamb, burek, and lepinje ordered today for orthodox Easter and they were super delicious! The line was long and busy, but that’s understanding because everyone were there to pick up their orders. That shows how great their food is! It is definitely worth the wait. Great service and great homemade food!

I grew up on this food (Cevapi, Pljeskavica and roasted Pork) - and I have been to a lot of places in Chicago and Sandy's DOES it right! Trust me, excellent food and everyone who works there is amazingly friendly. I have gone there twice now and it is great! Thanks Sandy's for keeping to tradition! I appreciate it. Just went again... Fried Pork Cracklings...to die for!!!!!
