UPDATE: May 1 I ordered again for delivery. This time I added the BBQ chicken skewer to my regular order of lumpia and pancit. Again, wish the pancit had no lemon wedge because it makes things taste a bit sour. I should have probably called and asked them to omit it, but it didn’t occur to me. Also, I love cabbage in my pancit and Subo never has enough. It’s like cabbage scraps were just thrown in. I wish there was a side order of just steamed cabbage because I would order that to go with my pancit. The new item of the BBQ chicken skewer was super flavorful. I loved it, however, after I bit into it, I started ripping the chicken off the skewer with my fork. I found the chicken to need a bit more cooking for my liking. I thought it could’ve stayed cooking a couple more minutes for me. It still was a bit under/pink for me. All in all, good prices, good amount of food, I will continue to order.
I ordered thru grubhub. This was my first time trying this place. I had 1 order of pancit. 1 order of lumpia. The lumpia was pork, but it had an odd flavor. Not that it was bad. It was just different...not the typical flavor I’ve had in my pork lumpia. The pancit also was good. Al of the food arrived super hot and fresh. The pancit also had a different flavor to it, but that didn’t make it bad. The cabbage in the lumpia was my favorite, but to be fair, I also love cabbage. There was a lemon wedge in the pancit that gave a strong flavor and odor to the pancit that I could have done without. Overall, I would certainly try this...
Read moreI get torn on whether I love this place or not. The food is homey and the prices are reasonable for how much food you're getting. Staff is lean and sometimes it seems they could use an extra hand or two. Tables are usually in need of a wipe down, condiments are in need of refills, all of the menu isn't available all the time so if you have your heart set on something you're craving you can feel a bit let down if it's not available that day. Parking lot is small and not always readily available.
If you can look past all of that, it usually hits the spot. Of all of their offerings, I'm the biggest fan of their breakfast bowls. One of the menu items you can usually count on being in stock, in short.... it's a bed of garlic fried rice topped with a side of eggs and your choice of Tapa (beef), Tocino (sweet marinated pork), Chorizo (sweet pork sausage), or Bangus (marinated fried milkfish). All for $6-$7.
There's a lot of other classics you can choose from depending what's in stock when you visit. I'll leave it at...
Read moreTOO EXPENSIVE! I wanted to try many different entrees but the prices were too expensive. For the small container calderetta what's $16 and $26 for the large. The garlic fried rice and tocino with an egg what's $12.99 this is what I ordered I love papanga tocino and when I make homemade I make it almost the same. But this was thick pieces of pork that was really dry and kind of stringy. It was not very tender and I need dental floss after eating it. I asked what was in the dinuguan theirs is made with pork stomach and meet and was $16.99. This is the most expensive Filipino restaurant I've ever been to $16.99 you should be able to get two or three items and some rice like I get mini Filipino stores. While I didn't like the tocino time of the egg and rice were cooked well and had a nice presentation. I really was left with no reason to go back again. I can get everything at Ruby's fast food for better and cheaper and at Uncle Mike's is not as expensive as this...
