About 10 days ago, (Feb 2nd or so) I was tired from getting groceries, so I decided to pick up a sub for lunch. The menu choices were all different, so I just built my own. To say it was a disappointment is to minimize the effect. The bun was not at all what I expected. It wasn't fresh; it crumbled as if it had "freezer burn" after being improperly wrapped, and then thawed. It was dry -- more like soda crackers than bread. And the flavor? Well, I can't describe something that was missing.
And that doesn't even begin to itemize the ingredients. I'll admit that they were fresh...but definitely of an inferior quality. Virtually no flavor. Wait. The shredded lettuce was OK.
And the service? It, too, was merely adequate. But the grandmother-type at the register was obviously a new recruit. She didn't speak or understand much English (which is not necessarily a negative thing, but in dealing with a diverse clientele, she should have already completed her ESL classes.) The problem was, IMO, she wasn't getting the hang of the technology of the cash register, and her granddaughter (?) was very patient in trying to lengthen Grandma's attention span, as well as improve her skills.
Final comment? I thought it was a one-off, but yesterday's visit to another store of the same chain way down by The Lake provided the same experience -- minus Grandma, and add a very nice...
Read moreI don't remember the dude's name (I've asked him 5 times and keep forgetting), but I'm pretty sure he works 24 hours a day/7 days a week... (Honestly, I think he's the 2nd shift guy.) He's awesome! He always asks about my son, remembers my order (I mean DETAILED like bread/toppings etc, and occasionally throws in my guac for free. If I have my toddler with me, he gives him cheese to chew on... Great dude! VERY clean, fast, and friendly. I love seeing the same faces where I shop. That's the way it's always been on the NW side. It shows that employees are content with their work, therefore spreading positivity. The attitude we receive all too often these days is "I hate my job/life/people" from employees. Even if I have to drive well out of my way, friendly service is worth it. I hope this part of town...
Read moreA large family came and took a while ordering food. The employee seemed overwhelmed completing their orders. A second person came to help and the initial employee left. I’d been waiting for 15 minutes, you would think she’d apologize for the wait and offer to assist me. Then when the second person was done with their order, she went to the back to give the first person their tip and took a while. Then the first person came back out and placed fresh meat on the counter and returned to the back. I obviously wasn’t a priority and I was starving. I waited as long as I did because I’ve never had trouble with their service, but the whole situation was handled poorly. I was wholeheartedly disappointed and will not return. If I want subway I’ll drive to a...
