I was picking my daughter up from my parents house coming back to Chicago. Wanted a late night bite to eat stop at this White Castle, cause it’s 24 hours and on the way, so super convenient. Writing this review to give a major shout out to Hawkins Manager James team member as they are truly setting the bar for excellence with regard to customer service.
Before coming into the store, we had tried to place the order online through the mobile app to use the five dollar reward coupon unfortunately when he clicked back to add the jalapeño cheese, this made the coupon disappear so I went inside the location. I was greeted by James who greeted me professionally and with a smile. I explained what happened with the app and how it took the coupon but didn’t apply the discount. He was like no problem. Let me get my manager.
That’s when Hawkins the came over. He explained that there wasn’t much that they could do with the app because they don’t have any control over that however he was able to apply in-house discounts but pretty much balanced out with the coupon would’ve been. I appreciate these gentleman‘s willingness to help as that is a true reflection of Christ love for all of his children and if we understood nothing else about the Bible. We should understand that loving your neighbor as you love yourself sums it up pretty well. Read moreI visited this location at 5/3/19 at night. I was relieved to see there were no cars in front of me so when I pulled up I was asked to wait for a couple minutes. When I gave my order of 1 Jalapeno Cheese Slider, Bacon Cheese Slider, and Small fries I was instructed to pull up to the 2nd window. The cashier verified my order and I corrected him saying I ordered a Jalapeno Cheese slider not a standard Cheeseburger. My total was $4.63 and I verbally said "Here's $20.63. After another 2 minutes I get back $6. I had to wait again and when the cashier opened the window I told him that I gave a $20 and my change was wrong. I should have received $16. The male employee with glasses asked for my receipt which showed that he keyed in $10.63 instead of $20.63 and closed the window. He returned and gave me my change. I counted my change and he only gave me $9 so I got shorted $1. I then get home to find out my Jalapeno Slider was just a standard Cheese Slider and he also didn't give me back my receipt. So, as always seems to happen the quality started to go down. They started missing ingredients like onions or the buns would be kinda soggy.
And then they did it. They gave us meat patties. The sliders were in regular boxes, there was no wait at all, and the smell was clearly meat. We both took one hesitant bite and yup. It was meat.
Which, fine, mistakes happen...but then they denied it and refused to give us a refund or fix it. Unbelievable.
We'll never go back and we won't trust any white castle again.
Honestly this is why we so rarely eat at non-vegan places. They always mess up and give us meat or dairy at some point. So frustrating.

They take longer to make them, because they make them fresh when you ask for them...which I love and it's why I'm giving this 5 stars. No old, cold sliders when you get the vegan ones!
