The food here is a balance of American favorites and unique specialty items that are based on recipes from the Cancun area of Mexico. Some Mexican restaurants tend to be meat-heavy, but Pueblo Real offers a good blend of vegetables throughout the menu. They also feature several pineapple dishes, an entree with cactus, and several dishes for two. The chips are almost always warm and crisp and the salsa is tasty, without too much spice. Even the handmade guacamole appetizer is pretty mild, but can be spiced up for those who like hotter fare.

Some of the menu items are lunch-only, while others are on both lunch and dinner menus. The restaurant opened to great fanfare and has maintained a steady flow of customers such that there are times even on a weeknight that you might have to wait a few minutes for a table. It's worth it. Many local patrons like the adult beverage selections. The staff is always smiling and you can tell they work well together. Several TVs over the bar make provide a variety of entertainment. The place is also good for local meetings...

We are from the SouthWest and this is what Mexican food is suppose to taste like. I've been to Mexico many times and even the inside of the building with the textured walls, colors, large wooden chairs reminds of my travels south of the boarder. And the food is amazing. My wife is Hispanic and this is the only restaurant in North East that she has found that feels like home. We can't say enough good about this place. We eat there when ever we are looking for a treat. It is a bit of a drive for us but always worth it. Oh and a real interesting thing that we have not seen before is that with your chips and salsa you get a little bowl of coleslaw. I thought it was odd at first but now I look forward to it. The menu is massive and has so much variety. My favorites are Porta Viarta, AP Espescial, and Degollado Especial. The staff are great and always attentive. If you like Mexican food you will love Pueblo. Our favorite place...

I went for lunch during the week and sat outside in their patio. I ordered the Grande Molcajete to try the cactus, something I've never had before. I was disappointed they use American cheese on their dishes instead of Mexican cheese since it takes away from the authenticity. The waiter gave me the choice of corn tortillas which was a nice touch. I had to wait a bit for the dish, but the yummy homemade chips and salsa helped pass the time. The food was great and the portion big!! The meal comes in two parts...the mortar you see here and a plate with the rice, lettuce, guacamole, etc. I saw a review saying the shrip was dry, but mine was juicy. I don’t know if it was because I had a different chef or if it was because it wasn't that busy, but everything I had was delicious and I'd definitely order it again. Service was good. The waiter came out to ask us how our food was and was there whenever we needed something.

We visited here today for a late lunch/early dinner. The restaurant is lovely and well decorated. Seated quickly chips and salsa came out fast. They were crunchy and tasty. The salsa was just right but a little more heat would have been welcome. I had the Seafood Chimichunga. Wow, it was so good. Husband had an Enchalda Ranchero(?). Both were huge portions and so tasty. Our server was quick and pleasant and checked with us often. We will definitely be back to try some of the tasty dishes they offer. We live in the area and are in Jefferson at least once a week.

Here is a great place to get a very good meal. The staff all give good attention to their customers and check back on us often. We sat at the bar tonight because it was most popular restaurant in town tonight. We started with frozen daiquiris and margaritas. The chips and salsa and queso last us just long enough until our plate of food arrive. My wife ordered the wet chimichangas and I ordered the Tres Mardes. Always a good portion and prepared very well.
