When my husband saw that Celtic Creamery was opening in Jensen Beach, he decided we had to give it a try. So we drove up to Jensen from Stuart in rush hour to have a taste. The store is brand new and everything from donuts to ice cream is made on site. The shop has a bright and cheerful interior, but unfortunately has no seating. That did not deter me from ordering a sundae, which I devoured while we walked around the art cottages. I ordered the Ballybunion Sundae with two types of ice cream, brownie, whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and hot fudge. For the ice cream, I choose From the Sea and the Bee, which is a honey sea salt caramel, and the Celtic Coffee. The ice cream was outstanding - the richest, creamiest ice cream I have ever had. Both were well flavored and were not overly sweet. The whipped cream was scooped from the bowl of a stand mixer and tasted like the real cream it was. The brownie was fudgy and warm. Real chocolate shavings and a drizzle of hot fudge were perfect toppings. The chocolate shavings added a nice little crunch. This was the best sundae I've ever eaten. My husband enjoyed his milkshake and pronounced it "Perfect." Celtic Creamery was worth the drive from Stuart - even in rush hour. Next time we plan to bring a cooler so we can take some of their excellent ice cream...
Read moreWe stopped in tonight for some ice cream tonight after dinner. I usually don't get any because I don't eat a lot of sugar. I didnt plan on getting any at all. But some of the flavors were so unique. I saw the bana-offee I believe it was called and decided to taste it. And oh my word! I have never had a better ice cream flavor anywhere. It tasted a lot like bananas foster. Not your typical fake banana flavor. It was absolutely incredible. I got a small one and a lid to take it home and eat more later. I let my husband taste it. After I was full. When we got back to the car. I had the lid in my hand and I said. Hey where's the rest of my ice cream. And he said... huh. I threw it away. I ate it all.... I could've cried. I was so upset. They were closing or I would've turned around and gone back for more. Now, if my husband doesn't want a divorce. I will have an entire gallon of it under the tree on or before christmas this year. Because I have my new favorite dessert! Outstanding! Give this place a try. And even if you're not that hungry. Get a large and...
Read moreI’m giving this establishment a two star rating however that may be generous. It’s a very cute facility, but it has a few weaknesses. They advertise donuts in an ice cream shop, so we ordered them. The donuts were freshly made by an employee who couldn’t care less. The donuts looked like small breaded shrimp with no resemblance to a doughnut whatsoever. They were very small irregular shaped clumps of dough. The first time we arrived at the establishment at 1:30 on a Tuesday there was a sign on the door saying closed, we’ll be back soon. So we walked away for about 10 minutes and came back and the store was open. We went and ordered donuts instead of ice cream and were very disappointed by the young Employee, who would barely bother to greet us. Shortly after we purchased our donuts and we’re leaving the store the Employee follow us out, put the closed sign on again and went out to sit in her car. If I was the business owner, I would be pretty upset with this young woman as an employee. I think the owners should find employees that really care...
