During my recent visit to this newly opened Vietnamese restaurant in my old neighborhood, I was pleasantly surprised by the infusion of flavors that were absent during my time here in the 70s and 80s. Spring Rolls: The meal kicked off with the crispy and flavorful spring rolls, setting the tone for what turned out to be a fantastic culinary adventure. Each bite was a perfect blend of freshness and crunch, making them an excellent starter.
Soups: I ventured into the world of Vietnamese soups with the Spicy Lemongrass Noodle Soup and the Seafood Noodle Soup. Both dishes were a symphony of flavors and character. The Spicy Lemongrass Noodle Soup had a bold and invigorating kick, while the Seafood Noodle Soup showcased a rich broth teeming with a variety of fresh seafood. It was evident that the chefs put their heart and soul into crafting these soups.
Roasted Coconut Juice: To complement the savory dishes, I opted for the roasted coconut juice. It was a refreshing and tasty choice, providing a perfect balance to the bold flavors of the soups. Sipping on this coconut elixir added a tropical touch to the meal.
Atmosphere and Service: The restaurant, though in its soft opening phase, boasts a spacious and welcoming environment. There are plenty of tables and chairs, making it an ideal spot for larger groups. The staff, notably Peter and a lovely young lady whose name escapes me (perhaps due to the enchantment of her charm), provided excellent service. Their attentiveness and friendly demeanor added to the overall positive experience.
This Vietnamese gem in my old neighborhood has not only brought back cherished memories but has also introduced me to a culinary journey I didn't expect to find. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and pay a visit – your taste buds...

Now, let's talk about the star of the show— The freshness and quality of the ingredients used in each dish were outstanding. We’re starting The Sugarcane Shrimp, Spring Roll, Shrimp Summer Rolls and for main was Beef Combo Pho Noodle Soup, Shaken Cubed Steak, Grilled Pork Chops. It was visually appealing, and each plate was meticulously prepared with skill and precision. All dishes were providing a delightful balance of flavors in every bite.
Overall, "Saigon Bistro" has truly won my heart as a go-to Vietnamese restaurant. The combination of fantastic food, welcoming ambiance, attentive service, and reasonable prices make it an absolute gem. Whether you're a hot noodle aficionado or a first-time Vietnamese eater, this restaurant offers something for everyone. I highly recommend "Pho Delight" to anyone seeking an enjoyable, delicious, and memorable...
Read moreThis restaurant used to be the best place to eat near our home, offering the same delicious flavors as their Central Ave branch. We were thrilled not to have to travel far to enjoy good pho anymore. When we traveled, we even thought its taste surpassed that of many famous restaurants. However, since this summer, everything has changed. The shrimp in the summer rolls are now fishy and unpleasant, and they charge $10 for just two rolls the size of a finger. The rice noodles, which used to be chewy, now break apart at the slightest touch. The noodle soup lacks the savory taste it once had and is far from what it used to be. The food is not even as good as what I can make at home—I’m not exaggerating, it’s below average and downright awful. It’s terrible and expensive. I’m not just angry, I’m disappointed, and I may never return. I’m not sure if they’ve changed the chef or owner, but if they have, I really hope they realize how bad they are at this. They’ve ruined this place, and I believe it won’t be long before...
