There must have been a change in management! Banh cuon hoa used to be our favorite place for banh cuon and the variety of dishes that they offer. We have also brought friends and family over on many occasions over the years. Our most recent two visits have been disappointing to say the least.

First visit - Feb 2024 We ordered banh cuon dac biet and bun rieu. Bun noodle came over-microwaved and soft. Banh cuon dac biet has some old meat fillings that tasted and smelled bad.

Second visit - March 2024 We ordered hu tieu kho and banh cuon dac biet again to give this place another chance.

Hu tieu kho came with the broth and mixing sauce bowls placed INSIDE and ON TOP of hu tieu and all the toppings. This tells how low the bar for food hygiene is. There was also a piece of plastic cling wrappers mixed inside the noodle.

Banh cuon came out wrong at first, which could have been my fault for having a soft voice. They corrected the dish in the end.

Unrelated to food or service, Vinahouse Club music was blasted at morning / lunch time, which made the experience even more unpleasant for us at both visits. If you are a Vinahouse fan, you may have...

Terrible place and there’s no reason for anyone to go here. Would give zero stars if possible. The food is bland and unappetizing as well as being absolutely overpriced. $11.70 for only 4 pieces of “special” bánh cuốn. 2 Pieces of meat are so thin that you can practically see through them. And never trust this place with your card of any kind. They stole my elder’s card when they didn’t pay attention and proceeded to charge obscene amounts on there. When we called to asked if they knew anything, they started denying everything and it’s all the banks fault. Tbh, I wouldn’t have wrote this review if they had been understanding or take some sort of action. The immediate denial and suspicious behavior made this situation worse. But even without the terrible service or fraud, the food is not worth it. Houston is the Mecca of food and culture, there’s a lot better Vietnamese food around (as a Vietnamese...

The food was okay, but the service was horrible. The waitress at the cashier was rude towards a mother that was trying to order some egg rolls for her daughter. The mother wanted to order some egg rolls but didn’t know what they were called so she said “ i want what she has “ and pointed to me but the lady was yapping in vietnamese saying “ if you wanted egg rolls say so why you have to point to someone else “ and kept going back and forth from English, to talk to the mother, to Vietnamese to talk about the mother to her coworkers IN FRONT the mother still standing there. Secondly, no one came by my table to check up on me, my water was finished and didn’t offer to refill them. Big disappointment since this spot was my family’s...

I've noted the frequency of the low ratings/reviews for this place. This was my first time dining in here (Nov. 2022) with a party of 8 people and we had a good experience. The service and timing was just fine, our server was very friendly although she did not speak much English. Most of our table ordered either the banh cuon dac biet or the banh uot dac biet and it was so delicious, for a great price. The steamed rice rolls were thin, everything was fresh, and the portions were plenty. If you're in the northern area of Houston, I'd definitely recommend this place for your Viet fix!

Banh Cuon Hoa is exactly what it needs to be—a no-frills spot serving legit, authentic banh cuon. The rice rolls were fresh, delicate, and had that soft-chewy texture you want. The filling was flavorful, and everything came out hot and fast. Service? Eh—pretty whatever. Not rude, just not warm. But you’re not coming here for hospitality—you’re coming for solid Vietnamese comfort food, and they absolutely deliver on that. If you’re craving traditional banh cuon without the fancy setting or fluff, this is the place. Keep it simple, and you’ll leave satisfied.
