Short version: Ignore the one star anomalies and give this place a shot.
Long version: I gave this place a shot strictly for geographical convenience - I was hungry, they were close. Ordered online in what was a simple and fast process - received an email immediately reiterating my total and when it would be ready for pickup. The place is pretty unassuming - tucked into a tiny shopping center I've driven past dozens of times but never seen before. I walked in, they had a very clean looking buffet set up, and my order was ready to go. Quick service, no hassle.
The food - packaged very neatly including everything I ordered and all the chinese food necessities (utensils, sauces, fortune cookie, etc.) The fried rice was clean and simple, not dripping in oil or slathered with MSG - I guess if you like that kind of thing there are a billion other "chinese food" places that will acommodate you (I'm looking at you, Christopher Jones). General Tso's chicken was good - not overly battered, and the sauce had a nice consistency (similar to that of barbecue sauce, which I prefer to sauces that are overly gelatinous as I find at most places)
Side note: It really grinds my gears when small business owners work so hard to succeed in a competitive environment and get good reviews on Google, Yelp, etc., and then a couple knuckleheads unjustly bring a solid rating down into the 3's... (Looking at you, Daniel Don, and you again, Christopher Jones)
Perhaps Kharma will see to it that one day you both have the misfortune of becoming small business owners with a clientele that includes a couple unreasonable and short-sighted customers just like yourself that leave you reviews similar to the ones you leave. Hopefully you put a little more thought into your reviews before leaving them in the future - giving them one star is asenine. That should be reserved for filthy restaurants with horrible service and terrible food. You don't give a business one star simply because there was a mistake with your order (you give them a chance to make it right, then review them), nor do you give them one star because you thought something...
Read moreI ordered food through GrubHub for myself and my son. We wanted extra soy sauce so requested extra sauce, but were given some brown sauce and red sauce that we didn't want, and he didn’t even eat, and just threw in the garbage without even touching it. I asked for extra sauce and assumed they would provide soy sauce like other restaurants do. Instead, they charged us $2 (without initially notifying us of any additional charge) for the sauce we didn’t even want. I was very disappointed and won’t order from them again. This was my first time ordering from them. If I had wanted extra red sauce, I think it was sweet and sour, restaurants normally just keep a jar of that on the table and you can eat as much as you want for no additional charge. But in our case, we received two sauces we didn't even want and just threw in the garbage after...
Read moreThis was my first time coming to this restaurant. I usually have my go to Chinese restaurant but I decided to give this one a shot. My order included two lunch specials, two house lemonades, crab puffs, and an order of shrimp fried rice. The lunch specials we ordered were General Tso chicken and Moo Goo Gai pan both came with a spring roll and your choice of rice. The spring rolls were very dry, the fried rice was bland, and the Moo Goo Gai Pan was tasteless even the sauce was watery. The General Tso tasted decent but the chicken was dry so it was very tough. The house lemonade wasn't that great. I prefer the Agua Fresca I get down the street. The shrimp fried rice taste like salt. Overall I will not be going back the only thing that tasted decent was the crab puffs. I'm highly disappointed and feel like I've wasted...
