Taqueria Don Pollo (Food Truck) — Restaurant in Texas

I'm surprised that this restaurant has high reviewes. I understand that we all have different taste buds and preference but there are standards to certain style of dishes etc. And this place did not have tex mex or Mexican style flavors. Maybe that is the wrong impression/assumption I made about taco truck I assumed tacos = most likely mexican tacos

1st order first time visiting

2 fajita tacos with everything and chicken burrito (which had shredded chicken instead of grilled) I'm guessing the places own style

Note: all sauces green or red did not taste like usual sauces from taco trucks in many Houston places. Sauce lacked the flavor of the green tomatillo and chilli All overpowered by something else (garlic maybe)

2nd order second time visiting location I ordered 2 fajita tacos with everything on it, 1 fajita quesadilla and classic coke cola. All came up 19 dollars. For that price I have tasted better tacos and got more for my buck.

Horrible establishment. I called in an order of 1 torta, 2 flour tacos and 1 gordita. When I arrived the total was $22 which I thought was a little high but I have the gentleman my card. The total on the card was $23.95. When I asked about the price difference he just pointed to the credit card machine. I guess he was trying to say there was a surcharge for using a card. which he never mentioned. I offered to pay 22 in cash instead but he and a woman were jesturing that they can't cancel the charge, which is idiotic. I ended up paying because I was hungry. Hopefully the food would make up for the shady service. It did not. A lot of the beer was hard and inedible. The portions are also about half the size of most any other taqueria or truck. AVOID...

Saw the good reviews... Stopped by today 4/29/2021...I was craving a good'ol Mexican torta... They gave me this torta on what seems to be on roll bread. I was disappointed when I didn't see the traditional torta bread. The fajita meat tasted old... Not fresh... And dry...I sat there and tried to enjoy this disappointment of a torta but the place had flies constantly trying to land on my food and drink. Imagine eating and waving your hands at the flies at the same time. I was charged $12 for 1 torta and a drink. The flies were free I guess. 2 stars because at least the lady that took my order smiled at me. Will...
