Summary: Great Indian food and service for a good price!
Overall: We came here as a group of 8 total with 2 kids and had the lunch buffet option and a side of mutton curry + mutton biryani. For the ~$14 adult self serve buffet price they had multiple chicken, fish and veggie options. The meat dishes were fresh and had plenty of meat to scoop (in comparison to other buffets). They were also well spiced with some dishes not as spicy for some balance (chicken curry, pakora (vegetable fritters), paneer). The buffet also included salad and a creamy white dessert. They bring plenty of fresh Naan bread. If you're the type of person to prefer a larger main course compared to desserts this place is for you and we sat eating plates of main dishes from the buffet section. The mutton curry and mutton biryani was enough to share between all of us and had a solid ratio of meat to rice and was really well done (some restaurants can have less meat to rice ratio). Service was good and they were accommodating when we preferred less spice for the biryani and mutton we ordered. They also provided more complimentary items which was unexpected!
Complimentary: They provided the kids each with mango Lassi (a good compliment to the spice). When they heard it was a birthday for one of us they played a Happy Birthday song for us and gave us a dessert plate for the bday person with a lighted candle! The plate included a couple of desserts like gulab jamun and what I think is jalebbi and it was enough for us to share after a big meal.
Overall a humble looking restaurant but don't underestimate the quality and service! Food was authentic!
Only cons might be how it's authentic and spicy so it may cause heartburn if you're not used to it. But that's expected for authentic Desi...
Read moreWell, the search continues for a good Indian restaurant. We dined here 3/8/24. It was an odd experience, but a few things stuck out to us. First and foremost was service. We arrived at the restaurant around 6:45, where we found there were some RSVP signs placed on the vacant booths. We then found they weren't necessarily reserved, you just have to wait for the right employee to remove the signage. But we didn't get much of a hello, just had some menus given and left alone for around 20 minutes. Every table that came in after us and a couple who sat down at the same time as us, had their orders taken first. The pompadoms served were chewy. When the food came, we were very surprised at the portion sizes. We ordered the lamb Rogan Josh and the paneer burji. For the price of around $20.00, the Rogan Josh came with a measly 9 small chunks of dry and overcooked lamb. The sauce was pretty good, well spiced and pleasantly textured. The paneer was pretty salty but otherwise cooked well. The basmati rice that accompanied our dish tasted a bit stale? The garlic Naan was the highlight. Very good. Our waitress seemed indifferent to our presence, and the couple who came in after us, but socialised frequently with the other tables that she had. A bit odd, it made us feel like we were a little unwelcome lol. Overall, I think the pricing needs adjustment and the waitstaff could be a little friendlier towards everyone. Another thing they did was direct us to give them a Google review, so that's what I am doing here. We paid around $50.00 for just two mains and two Naan breads (priced at $2.80 each). I would not suggest this restaurant for large groups due to the pricing and serving size. The food is average. The service is a little...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Tandoori Hut, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy ambiance that immediately made me feel at home.
One of the highlights of my meal was the homemade naan. It was perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of crispness on the outside and a soft, fluffy texture on the inside. Each bite was a delightful combination of flavors, and it was clear that the naan was made with care and attention to detail.
But the star of the show was undoubtedly the lamb saag. The tender pieces of lamb were cooked to perfection and paired beautifully with the rich, creamy spinach sauce. The flavors were well-balanced, with just the right amount of spice and a hint of smokiness that added depth to the dish. It was evident that the chefs at Tandoori Hut take great pride in their culinary skills, as every bite was bursting with flavor.
The service at Tandoori Hut was also top-notch. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, always ready to offer recommendations and answer any questions I had. They made sure that my dining experience was nothing short of excellent, and I truly appreciated their efforts.
Overall, I highly recommend Tandoori Hut to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Indian dining experience. The homemade naan and the lamb saag are not to be missed, and the friendly staff will make you feel like a valued guest. Whether you're a fan of Indian cuisine or just looking to try something new, Tandoori Hut is the...
