So hear me outā¦I have been wanting to try Calaveras for a while now. I went Thursday and they closed at 7:30 due to being sold out of everything (that should tell you something). So I said Iāll go Friday. Went Friday around 6:30 for the Esquite (Mexican street corn) and the Clasico (Three QuesaBirrias with an order of Consome-Birria Broth). They were sold out of both. My heart broke again. Learned the secret to calling ahead to order and finally got my hands on both today. I had to stop in the parking lot on the way out and try both. It was the most delicious Mexican cuisine Iāve had around here or in my life really! I was so busy eating I dipped my new dress sleeve in the broth without knowing because I was too busy eating. š Please support this family ran business and try everything to your hearts desire. The portions are more than enough and the family is SO nice. I will definitely be back. Thank you for serving JC!!!! You guys did...

Despite also strictly having outside seating for now, itās a really nice atmosphere. There was a mini fire going in a stationed fire pit, and it made the experience ultra cozy, the smell was incredible. Asking the same question to confirm my order or about another menu item, she just stared at me as if I had 3 heads.. and she even got my order wrong. It was probably a fluke, as my previous experiences here were...

They have vegetarian options, which I love. You can add nopales or avocado to your food if you don't want birria or carnitas.
Be patient while waiting for your food because they are busy and understandably so. While we waited at a picnic table to eat our food there on a Sunday afternoon, we watched quite a few people come through for to-go orders. Worth the wait and...
