I only go to McDonald's for a quick, cheap bite to eat that's close to me, so I don't expect great quality or anything, but the food I get here is often cold, dry, and hard. The staff is usually incredibly unfriendly. I also work food service so I get that it's not a fun job and I always try to be super nice for that reason, but I've only had an employee be polite in return maybe twice. But again, whatever, it's McDonald's - I go there knowing what to expect.
However, I recently had an unfortunate experience where I tried to place a mobile order and went to pick it up in the lobby, but apparently it was supposed to have been closed for a Christmas party. I didn't see any signage indicating this, nobody I followed in told me this or said anything to me about it. Ultimately they told me didn't receive my mobile order, so I sat down to try to install the app on my phone to show them the receipt, but I couldn't get it to download on their wifi. It was only after I sat there for a good ten minutes that someone told me the lobby was supposed to have been closed to customers. I explained that I had placed the order online at home but I didn't have a car to go through the drive through, so the lobby was the only way for me to get it - pickup wasn't marked out as an option in the app either. They didn't offer to take my order while I was in there or give any solutions for why my order might not have gone through, they just kind of shrugged and said "I don't know" - so obviously I went to leave, since that's what they were asking me to do. However, the door was already locked (even though they knew a non-employee was in there) so I ran into it. Instead of saying anything when I was walking towards it or just.. offering to open the door, the employees stared and laughed at me. One taller girl with a missing front tooth, the one who finally let me out, was particularly rude about it. It was embarrassing enough just trying to get food and realizing for whatever reason the order didn't go through, on top of the fact I didn't realize I wasn't supposed to be there, but their complete lack of empathy was really the icing on top of everything else. It was the first time I was going to eat that day, I just wanted some dinner ffs.
This location is consistently pretty below average in quality, but this is absolutely unacceptable. There was a much better way to handle that situation where if they couldn't have just taken my order in there so I could get some food, they could have at least been kinder about the misunderstanding. I've worked in customer service all my life and I don't understand how some of the employees here can can be so rude and ineffective...
Read moreWalking in, no one greets you! As my mother and I, the only two in store, looked at the menu trying to decide, the order taker tapped her fingers and getting sighing at us. Once we ordered, she bagged our food up and told us there were no fries, that we would have to wAit. The lobby was filthy, littered with trash and spills all over the floor, and every table there was dirty. We looked for napkins so that we could clean off a table to eat at only to find there are no napkins accessible to the patrons. I went back to the counter to ask for napkins as there none in our bag of food either ( as they apparently don’t use trays anymore either ) and again was huffed at by another employee and given 3 napkins. As we cleaned our table and sat down to eat, we realized that our salt and pepper ( which are also not on the tables anymore ) nor our mayonnaise was in the bag. Once again I made another trip to the front to be huffed at and scowled out once again. Once we finally got to eat, the chicken nuggets were dry and hard, as they had clearly been cooked hours earlier. We finished what we could of our meal, which was very little, and threw away the majority of our food. We stopped by the restroom on our way out which of course was filthy and neither stall had any toilet paper. I told any employee there was no TP, and she replied oh great, and then proceeded in a stall with no TO. Thank goodness we had enough to expect there to be no TP and took a handful of napkins I had in my purse from a previous restaurant. Needless to say, McDonalds, you failed!! This will be...
Read moreWow. I know it's McDonald's so it's not fancy or nice. However it should be clean, workers should comprehend how to take orders. They tried to say a menu item was burger king not McDonald's. The item a mocha, frappe. Like seriously turn around it's behind you on the damn menu board. The lace is so dang disgusting! Dirty tables, trash everywhere, bathroom is sick. Bugs in the bathroom! Had a man who seemed not right, maybe substance issues I don't but he was talking to himself etc, staring people down, following customers. They didn't do anything. Just horrible staff, horrible experience. In the 30mins we were here almost every single staff member was on break. Basically two girls working and one guy who doesn't even know the McDonald's menu! Just pathetic. Plus you could go somewhere way better and nice since their prices have skyrocketed. Like Mid City, Main Street pizza, the new burger place etc. Two double cheeseburgers, two large fries, three drinks like $45-50. Never ever again! P.S a large fry at this McDonald's is apparently almost $6 when other McDonald's in Johnson City it's $4.65.
I'm posting pictures of this filthy place, especially all that trash laying everywhere! McDonald's was never high class but now it's not fit...
