Pho Lao Kitchen Der — Restaurant in Johnson City

Fabulous Thai cuisine! It was our first time trying their food. Two of us ordered several items to take home. All of them were absolutely delicious! The Larb was incredibly flavorful. It was a very generous portion of ground chicken loaded with fresh mint and exotic flavors. They served it with cabbage and cucumbers (and sticky rice), which was extra nice because cabbage doesn't wilt in the container like lettuce when you order it elsewhere. It was perfect. The Tom Yum Soup is out of this world. I ordered it with fresh (not fried) tofu and was in heaven seeing actual thin stalks of lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and galangal in this savory hot and sour soup. I could've eaten a gallon of it! We enjoy a lot of Thai food from other good restaurants in the area, and this fab place may become our favorite! Another place we order from tends to focus too much on the tomato in their Tom Yum and not enough on the exotic Thai spices that perk up the palate. I've never tasted kaffir lime leaves or galangal in theirs. The Pad-Ka-Pow Stir Fry (with sliced chicken) was great, as was the Fried Rice Ka-Prow (chicken), Pad Kee Mao (chicken), Pot Stickers, and Fresh Salad Rolls with shrimp. The prices are extremely reasonable, and the portions were very generous. Andrew was very helpful when I called in the order and also when we picked up the meals. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in J.C. Living only 50 miles away, it's worth it to drive there, grab the grub, turn around, and drive back! I highly recommend Pho Lao Kitchen Der! I came across this place on google a couple weeks ago and decided to try it out. The place i usually go for Pho was closed on the particular day I went but that doesn’t stop my craving for Pho. I got the fresh spring rolls with tofu and the Pho Lao. The spring rolls were amazing the tasted really good and the sauce was amazing 5 stars across the board for those. The Pho on the other hand was okay, it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting to get when I ordered but that didn’t affect my thoughts of it. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the meet was tender and juicy it just lacked flavor. But that being said it was take out so being in the store and having it fresh could change that completely. When it comes to service, the lady that took my order over the phone was very nice and professional and when I went to pick up my meal the same interaction I had on the phone was what I had in store very friendly and professional. This place overall is great if you are in the mood for a bowl of Pho. I’ll definitely be back to try it sit down instead...

OUTSTANDING AUTHENTIC THAI CUISINE!!!!!!

My favorite Thai is Lao based. It's different from the Thai food you are used to, IT'S MUCH BETTER!!!! Slightly different ingredients & different cooking techniques make the flavors come to life in your mouth. Make your taste buds HAPPY and visit today... don't even wait until tomorrow. SERIOUSLY AMAZING FOOD!!! I want to eat here every day. Staff is super friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and comfortable. The chef came to our table a few times to make sure we loved their food. Their pride in what they serve is admirable, and they serve what they eat & feed their own family. Every ingredient is super fresh & scrumptious 😋 I think I'm in Love ❤️ with this place!!!
