While this was my first time coming here, my experience was very quick and short! The food was great. I would recommend the rib tips. Despite tasting a hit of lighter fluid, they were tender, delicious, and didn’t need to be drowned in sauce - so light on the sauce. Those rib tips didn’t stand a chance! I feel like there should have been more, in that it was a large order. But that could’ve just been me wanting more right after clearing the plate - fries and all 😁😅😋. And, for what you get, the price was surprisingly reasonable; tax is already included in the price you see. So the price you see is the price you pay, flat out! 👍🏽 The service was great. Was helped by, none other than, JD himself - the owner! Really cool guy, relatable, respectful, went above and beyond… Overall, great service experience. The place gave “chillin with guys” to me. It was a comfortable vibe, like being a friend’s place. I thought it was cool that there was a space for events and a bar area - not for the establishment to serve alcohol, but you can bring what you want to be served from that area at your event. Overall, I recommend checking JD’s out! I will be trying some different food items from here. As it stands, I have found a new BBQ spot to add to my go-to list!
Correction: It wasn’t lighter fluid… Just...
Read moreFirst timers since they have a physical locations. Went here off the Google reviews. We ordered bbq chicken wings and two bbq turkey tip combos, small and large with sauce on the side.
Pros: chicken wings were fresh, Turkey tips were tender, and the restaurant had a connecting lounge.
Cons: The guy who took the order over the phone sounded lifeless. The food presentation was not there. Costly for the portion sizes. I asked for bbq chicken wings, but I got fried wings. Then chicken wings were heavily sauced with their bbq sauce, which prevented the ability to taste the chicken was seasoning. The turkey combos consisted of boiled turkey tips not bbq. The small combo was a handful of turkey tips and a half of a turkey link. The large combo had a little over a handful of turkey tips and one turkey link cut in half. Again, not bbq turkey tips. Even after putting the sauce on the turkey tips the only thing I could say was at least they’re tender. Their homemade sauce is very thick with super ketchup base.
Bottom line i think the fried chicken maybe good with no sauce. Well if you’re okay with boiled turkey tips then this is the...
Read moreAs a chef, I enjoy cooking & eating good food and BBQ. When I cook & eat BBQ, I strive for & expect 4 characteristics that make the bbq experience great for me. The Bbq'd meat has to be seasoned well, smoky, tender & taste great without sauce. Well I made my first visit to JD's BBQ after reading the rave reviews. I have to say that I was very satisfied with the seasoning, the smokiness & taste of the meat with & without the sauce. The rib tips were cut nicely & were moist. However they were not as tender as I perfer them (falling of the gristle) BUT they were NOT too tough. My crispy chicken wings were perfectly seasoned to the bones. The hot link & fries were delicious. My whole meal was made fresh. Great customer service & I did not have to wait long to be served. I will be back again (especially while it's too cold to fire up my smoker or grill). Although I ordered the Wings, Rib Tip & Pork Hot Link Combo Meal, I get the feeling that you can't go wrong with JD's menu items. I Recommend JD's BBQ. It is well WORTH THE 14 MILES I drive TO GET HERE. Thank you JD, You Rock 😉 👩🏿🍳 from (the...
