I absolutely will be eating here at least two to three times a week this food was absolutely amazing seasoned to perfection, large portions very reasonable pricing. I ordered a variety of things so I could try them & I was not disappointed with ANY of the things I ordered, from the food to the drinks. First off let's talk about these drinks they're huge they come in large mason jars, you can get them in two sizes a medium or a large. The medium is $3.50 & the large is $4.50 WAY more drink than the price. I ordered the Birria Taco platter it came with three tacos, homemade refried beans, Spanish rice & a consummate broth..SOOOOO GOOD š„“š¤¤ I also ordered the Birra Ramen bowl a ton of meat in the bowl noodles cooked to perfection I literally wanted to drink the broth came with cilantro onions and lime. Next I had the steak burrito stuffed to the brim with ingredients grilled on the flat top with their signature donkey embroidered on it delicious!! I also ordered a small side of the flaming hot Cheeto elotes, it was okay just average to me but still good. I had a horchata water & a strawberry water I also had a pina colada (which was only $7.99) All of them were delicious could have been a little sweeter with Horchata water & the strawberry water but both were really good really refreshing. Everything is made from scratch and fresh daily they have three different type of sauces on your table that are made from scratch and are so good the avocado salsa was my favorite and the red spicy salsa if you like heat go for that 1 š„µ š„. The hospitality was outstanding from the front staff to the cooks in the back everyone was super sweet, accommodating & very nice the establishment was very clean also the bathrooms are immaculat & the service is on point. If you haven't been here I suggest...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLocated in a small strip mall. This is actually a very good Mexican restaurant with great value for your money. I noticed that every meal you get, you have very generous portions. The cost of the food is more than reasonable. The menu is extensive and they have specials. Ample seating. Bathrooms are clean. Service was okay, it could be better and more attentive. We got the taco salad, signature tonto burrito (with shrimp added), sonora dog (you canāt get this at most Mexican places in Illinois), horchatas, and agua de Jamaica. Those drinks are like $4 something but you get them in huge mason jars. Both drinks were delicious. Overall, itās a 4.5 but Iāll round it to a 5 for the excellent value. Youāll definitely have leftovers to take home.
-taco salad 5 - a little oily but very good shell. Probably one of the better taco salads I have tasted. -signature tonto burrito 4.5 - a little salty on the meat but if you add some of that avocado sauce it tastes amazing. Tons of meat in here. -sonora dog 5 -bacon wrapped hot dog with everything on it. You get some heat from the jalapeƱos, creaminess from the avocados, and mild sweetness from the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTonto Burrito. They have a large selection of unique burritos. The Tanto Burrito was flavorful but very heavy and oily. Their cilantro/lime/avocado sauce served with meals is worth coming in for alone (so yummy). It made the experience. The salsa verada is good too. It was hotter than I expected, but it was homemade fresh. Burritos are $12 - $14. They also serve tacos and they have daily specials. None of which I've tried yet.
Dine-in is an option. It's a small space with a few booths, a few joined tables,, and some gambling machines. Groups getting food to go can quickly fill up half the seats. They had no issues with me sitting alone in a bigger booth, and the woman who ran the register was courteous. I received my food promptly and paid at the register. If I remember correctly, they take alternate payments like Apple/Google/Venmo Pay. They have a unique pay screen for that. I paid by card/wave chip. I've been there twice....
