ALDI — Local services in Joliet

Just had an absolute humiliating experience and will NEVER be back at this aldis. Upon scanning at the self checkout my child was helping me scan items and apparently a small soap was not scanned and missed by an honest true mistake. This very unprofessional lady named “Molly” ran over to us ripped the receipt from me and said your stealing !!! She also stated “Next time you shouldn’t be trying to steal infront of your child!!” Also called me a bad influence. I asked her can I see the receipt because I had no idea what she was talking about and she even tried to withhold my own receipt from me…. And I am absolutely mortified. I make over 100k a year and I absolutely genuinely didn’t mean to miss a $4 soap. If I was trying to “steal” I wouldn’t be using MY DEBIT card to pay for our order with all my personal information. Never in my life have I seen something so unprofessional. She could have even kindly said mam I think you might of missed a mini soap. An honest true mistake got me called a names and a stealer infront of my 10 year old. I’m absolutely mortified as we have more than enough money to pay for what we need and work very hard for our money. We don’t steal ever nor would I ever have the balls to steal. I will absolutely slow down next time at a self checkout and not try to be in such a rush to get home. For this reason I wish self checkout wasn’t even a thing. I feel sorry for my small child who had to witness someone say something so disgusting. Crazy thing I ever saw. Some Spanish woman with a yellow plastic bag was being harassed by several employees at this location today, this harassment was racially motivated based on the exchange of words and also the treatment the Spanish woman was given. They kept acting like she was an illegal immigrant and acting like she didn't even speak English and wanting to go through her bags multiple times. I figured after the tall white guy got done harassing her and going through all her stuff they would be done with her, but that's when the white woman kicked in and started harassing the woman. Funny thing was when she started speaking English better than the ignorant white woman that was shoving her around and forcefully taking the woman's things out of her hands, then they had the nerve to tell her her kind was not welcomed there. This was over the top. I will never shop at Aldi's for the rest of my God fearing life and neither should anyone reading this. I feel sorry for that poor woman. The only reason I gave one star is because zero was not an option. I went in on a Sunday evening to purchase a bottle of wine. When I got to the check out line the manager comes over and asks for my ID which I presented her with. She then goes forward to ask me what's my address. Okay, now I'm thrown for a loop here... I responded "my address? It's on my ID." She then tells me that in order for her to sell me the wine I have to verbally state my civic address in front of everyone or else she wouldn't sell the wine to me because she needs to verify that this is my ID. I responded "My picture is on the ID. That's usually how ppl verify that it's me when I am making a 21+ purchase." She rolled her eyes and asked me if i was going to comply or not... So I stated my address and she slammed my ID down on the counter. I have not patronized any Aldi location since that...
