This may be the oldest Mexican restaurant in Jonesboro and I have eaten here many times. The menu is basically the same as the other Mexican restaurants in town although the dishes may have different names. Like those other restaurants, they do give free chips and salsa before your meal. They also have lunch specials throughout the week if you stop by during that dining period. During my visit I ordered the Rancho Viejo which is steak, chicken, and chorizo mixed with potatoes and served with rice and beans. It was good, as was everything else served during my meal. The service was friendly and fast as well. I took off a star because, as mentioned before, it is the same menu as nearly every other Mexican restaurant and I think it would be good to have a mix of more dishes. Other than that, everything was fine and I would eat here again.

We arrived after lunch rush hour and were promptly seated. Our waitress Ms Syda I ordered the pollo los Cabo’s ( chicken breast coved in sour cream sauce and spinach served with shrimp and steamed veggies and rice). I substitutes the rice for beans and a pineapple water to drink. My Bride ordered the enchilada suizas (grilled chicken with green and cheese sauce with lettuce and avocado) and Pineapple Jarritos to drink. We ordered steak tacos to go. Chips and salsa were available. They were light and thin with a nice salsa. Sugar free sweeteners were available. Our total was 68.31 Overall I loved the quiet atmosphere! My food was Outstanding!! I heard that they are the best in Jonesboro!!!! I would agree…..even though we haven’t been to many Mexican restaurants here!!

Many years ago a misunderstanding transpired during covid beginnings. The food industry suffering not just finacially but racially. I have Spanish speaking people in my family. Everyone stuggled with fear & reprimands from the governing entities,if covid guidlines weren't followed. I didn't know my child had a sensitivities to a spice they use. We now avoid those dishes. It was concluded , by some, that we were supposing the food was bad . That's not true. They are very clean ! Food sensitivity is not to be confused with pathogen contamination. If one hasn't eaten the rich spicy food in many years you can experiance digestive episodes. I told someone I won't eat there again because I had diarrhea. A Mexican friend asked me if I felt sick. I said n. Just diarrhea. He said you're not use to the spices & the richness of the. Go back & eat a couple more times & that won't happen . He was correct. I also was trying to undo the hurridness she learned in school on their outings. It's a choking hazard. And she did choke. She was not ill just eating too fast. I would suggest eateries & concerned patrons, parents, work with City leaders to create some guidelines for schools that field trip to eateries. Allow for more time for the students to eat. It's a big liability for the Eateries & the schools . I don't tell people not to eat their anymore. About 50 to 60 of them . I say don't stop enjoying the place. So, we are sorry about the fallout. We enjoyed the place for so many years. We won't go back out of respect to not cause any undeserved difficuties or pain . Thank you for the good times we had . Many blessings for blessing us. PS. Everyone should check their credit card balances before they...

Have been here several times and enjoyed myself every time until recently. Sadly the last couple times I’ve went inside to eat the waiting staff has been incredibly rude. No re fills we sat there forever before they brought us our salsa and chips. Also we watched a family come in after us get started right away. As a server myself I realized what was going on the server looked at us and assumed we weren’t going to tip because of our age and saw a family that she thought would. Little did she know I’m an extremely good tipper I never leave less than 20 but that night she got 0 as when she was walking away from our table for the last time she mumbled something under her breath but I heard;) they took 1 dollar off our meal for the bad experience which totally makes up for it right? No. We decided to give it a second chance and there was no one to be found when we walked in me and 2 other ladies that were there before us had to go find someone to seat us. Lastly you’d think okay I won’t go in and eat anymore I will just order Togo. That didn’t go well either. So with all that being said fix your staff’s attitudes they are absolutely disgusting. I have been a server for a long time now and I would never treat my customers the way they are apparently allowed to treat there’s. It’s sad when I have people come to eat at my restaurant and they praise me because of a bad experience they have had at your restaurant with your...

I like the Steak Mexicano, the mixed fajitas, the shrimp chimichanga, the carne asada, carnitas, even the fajita taco salad is good here. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. Back when there were 2 El Acapulco's in Jonesboro, i only ate at this one. In fact it's the only true Mexican restaurant, IMO. (TaMolly's doesn't count, guys! TaMolly's is more a mix of Tex-Mex/American/high-end Taco Bell.) At El Acapulco I can order things here that aren't on the menu because a lot of the kitchen staff is Mexican. A lot of the wait staff used to be Mexican, too, which also made it easy to order certain plates the traditional Mexican way. Although the last time I dined-in there, which was before the pandemic, all the waitstaff was American and there were a lot of errors in orders bc they don't know and aren't familiar with Mexican cuisine. Hopefully, they got some Mexican or at least Mexican-Americans working the kitchen and waiting tables again. I have only ordered to-go from here since the pandemic. My order is always right, the tortillas are the only common mistake. If i order corn, I'll get flour, if i order 2 corn tortillas, I'll get one order of corn and the other will be flour. My husband likes the flour tortillas, so i always just give him the extra order and finish my meal without...
