Try and avoid the French Inion Au Gratin soup. The last three times I’ve gone it’s not at all be melted. It’s two medium slices of provolone on top barely melted. Tonight I took a small bit after having it submerged in my soup. I almost choked on it, had to grab it out of my mouth. This is very unsafe. I’ve told staff in the past about it but never asked for it to be heated up more (don’t wanna be that guy), but after pretty much almost choking on it tonight I needed to leave a review. Please MELT THE CHEESE! My spouse had bariatric surgery and could have eaten it if it had been melted and only one slice. I told her she shouldn’t eat it and we are glad I didn’t, that could have gotten caught in her stomach and caused a lot of issues. One slice, fully melted is the classic Au Gratin French Onion Soup. I need to see the rim of the bowl through the cheese. I get it, it’s Joplin Mo, folks like their dairy but when it’s that thick and not melted yuck.
Other than that all the food is delicious. The Davids Fried Chicken is amazing with house dressing or honest mustard. Love the Rueben sandwich also, perfect combo of flavors. Just.. for the love of god, melt the cheese on the soup.. You may laugh at this until someone does choke and something happens. You all use to use one slice, very melted. Two thick slices under a heat lamp while the other food is made isn’t it.
Yes, this was a rant about a soup. Absolutely nothing else wrong with the restaurant. It’s just after telling staff over the last year that it should be melted more and then this. I need...
Read moreIf I could give no starts I would! I got French onion soup that had way way! Too many onions! I mean so many to the point that I couldn’t eat more than two bites and then had to throw the rest away, it was all onion and no soup. Then I called them to ask if that was how it was supposed to be prepared, with so so many onions AND NO SOUP!, and the employee who answered the phone, for some reason just could NOT answer my question. He just kept saying “yes there’s onions in the soup” ok yes I know there’s onions it called French onion soup my question was is there supposed to be sooooo many to where it’s basically sautéed onions?? Plus the bread that came with it was not very good and the slice of cheese they gave me with the soup was unwrapped just thrown on top of the soup container....why? It was not good at all, it was horrible! And I was very displeased with the customer service as well, I will NOT be going back! Wish the customer service would have been better as well so I could have retrieved my wasted money! Very disappointed in this...
Read moreStopped by for lunch before a nearby appointment. 6 people waiting in line for the door to open. Took only a few minutes before nearly every seat was full. Order at a counter, take a seat and wait for delivery. Get your own drink, napkins, etc. The place is very poorly ventilated! Not impressed but the whole experience was ok as was the food, just ok. Nothing special. I ordered the fried chicken salad. The salad seemingly had very fresh looking ingredients but they were ordinary, boring salad ingredients and the tomatoes were excessive. The fried chicken was pretty good. I was immediately put off by being solicited for a tip when I paid at the beginning of my visit. I don’t understand why any employee would be asking...
