Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Joplin

I have personally worked at sonic and am not generally one to complain, but I went to this sonic on 10/9 around 6:45 pm and I was very disappointed in the service and the overall food quality. I ordered a 3 piece chicken tender dinner. When ordering I was asked if I wanted sauce, I specifically asked if the gravy is still included in the dinner, and I was told yes. I wait a good 5 minutes for my food. I was okay with that because I assumed they were making it fresh, when I received my food I found out that was not the case (everything was luke warm at best). I open the dinner and find: an odd assortment of chicken pieces (multiple very small nugget type pieces and another that had a whole side of breading missing), a haphazard mix of tater tots and fries (the meal is supposed to come with tater tots), two pieces of toast (the only part of the meal that was done correctly), no onion ring, and no gravy. I hit the red button and ask for a side of gravy, they say I will have to wait a few minutes because they will need to make more. So that means instead of making more for the meal I ordered they instead decided just not to include it. I'll be honest, I don't normally get fast food, I don't like to spend the money on it. But, yesterday was a long day and last night I didn't want to have to make dinner so I splurged. Looking back I should have just refused the food and asked for a refund, but I had already waited so long that I really didn't want to wait any longer. On Saturday, September 13th, My daughter and I pulled into the sonic on 32nd St. and ordered three of the caramel toffee iced coffees and two pretzel twists. When the carhop delivered our order, we had no coffees. We did get two pretzel twist and three orders of toffee bites. When I told the carhop that the order was wrong that there should’ve been three coffees and no toffee bites. She went back inside and brought us our coffees.. We pulled out of the drive-in and tried to take a drink of our coffee, but they were so nasty tasting. We could not drink them. I do not know what happened, but they were not made properly. We thought maybe it was just one of them, but it was all three of them. We could not drink them. They tasted so bad. This was probably about 230 in the afternoon. I was very disappointed because the ones we had ordered there before were delicious. I ended up throwing all three of them away because we just could not drink them. I do not know what happened or why our order was so messed up. But, I will not be returning to that Sonic even though it is very close to my home. I’m not sure who is in charge of making drinks when the orders are taken but whoever made these drinks was definitely not trained and how to make the specialty drinks that day off. We wasted $10.93 at the 32nd Street Sonic this afternoon. Be sure you taste everything before you pull out of the drive-in. Normally I don't do negative reviews at all. Only positive ones,but honestly this is one of the worst sonics in the area. I work just a couple of blocks from here and come in almost daily for a drink and breakfast before work. Ever time I ask for extra ice and barely get enough to keep it cold for one,but that's not the real issue here. The main issue is with how every single time I have ordered food from there it's below sub par. The breakfast burritos are expensive for one so I expect them to be made properly. And every time they are not. Either they send out something that looks like it was wrapped by a toddler with half of it full in a Jr size shell...or it only has half the ingredients it's supposed to have and still wrapped like a child did it. I never say anything as many times as I've been unhappy with the food. But the last time I ordered an ultimate meat and cheese burrito it has no sausage and no cheese. They said they would remake it but I was already at work. So I went in this morning. As I pulled away it was half full and had no bacon and no cheese sauce at all, so I had to go back through once again and whoever was in charge remade it himself and it was right. But that's the way they should always be made...not just when someone gets so fed up with sub par food that they have to complain about it. At this point I'll make the further drive and go elsewhere.
