Thai Time Express — Restaurant in Joplin

To be completely honest, the quality of this food is great. However, the service is always less than mediocre. When we are dining in, we have to wait a very long time to be asked what we would like to drink, and then longer to receive it. I just think this crew could use a solid lesson on time management and teamwork. Tonight we ordered take out (because of our opinion of dine in service), and we waited well over twenty minutes in the drive thru. We ordered from our home that is 10-15 mins away. We were told it would take about 10-15 mins to cook. So, we waited a few mins then left. We arrived, paid, and were left in the drive through for 20 mins. I tried to signal a server over to the window to ask about the wait, but no one would notice us until my husband literally had to holler. I would have just called, but I watched them ignore the phone for two phone calls. When I finally got their attention, I was told, “well, we didn’t know we would get busy after you called.” I proceeded to say that it shouldn’t have impacted my “ticket time.” I got a smile and a sorry. I love the quality of food, but the service HAS to change. I was in this business for a long time, and it’s honestly baffling. My self and the husband were driving interstate from Illinois for about 6 hours , when we decided to take a pit-stop in Joplin. We were looking at food options for dinner. We had the usual McDs and Arbys for breakfast and lunch and so wanted a good and hearty meal for dinner. It was a Sunday and so a lot of places seemed to be closed or had closed early. We then came across this restaurant and the google reviews convinced us to try this place out. It's a tiny joint with limited seating (and parking) but very cozy. As we entered the restaurant, the lady at the counter greeted us and asked us to be seated. She gave us the menu to decide and once we were ready we could go to the counter and place the order. We decided to take Thai wings , Tom kha soup and Thai Time Curry with Duck meat. Believe me when I say the food was fabulous. After our long journey , the soup felt like a balm to our throat and belly. Everything was fantastic and may I say , this was one of the best Thai food we have had. There wasn't a lot of staff , so the lady at the counter was also the one to bring us our food. She was kind and courteous and asked us if we needed anything else. Took my wife out for dinner as I was craving some Thai food. My wife ordered the Pho soup and I got the Pad See-U. Both dishes were well prepared and served fairly quick. The noodles in the Pad See-U were perfectly cooked for me as they were nice and chewy! I added some Sriracha sauce for a little heat and recommend doing the same! The picture of the egg rolls were delivered to our by accident, but I was able to take a picture before they caught their mistake. They looked amazing and I kept thinking about ordering some for our table. The drink pictured is Thai Coffee. I believe it is coffee mixed with sweetened condensed milk and my wife enjoyed it as she is the coffee drinker. If you are in the mood for some Thai food, I highly recommend Thai time!!!
