Really hot. No AC, fan does not cool enough. The sushi was warm. I've never had sushi that is not cooked, be warm. It made it taste not very fresh and I was honestly worried I may get sick eating it, as i don't know any credibilitybehind their establishment (ie if they have past inspections, etc - they may have but i didnt know so i wasnt going to try to get sick.) I did enjoy the miso soup and seaweed salad but I paid $25 for miso soup, seaweed salad and sushi I just left at the table after eating a couple pieces thinking "am I crazy, is this warm?"It is neither hot nor cold and just the fish didn't taste fresh. Idk if other sushi restaurants cool their rice or something before making their cold rolls or what but every other sushi restaurant I've been at has cold sushi rice for cold rolls. The guy asked at the end if something was wrong because I left most of the sushi and I told him what I felt was wrong. He said well yeah they make it fresh and the rice is hot. Then through a jab at me that "Well yeah, if you buy your sushi at Sam's Club of course it's cold." etc. I have no doubt their ramen is keeping their business alive because the sushi is not good, not kept to normal Temps (either hot or cold) and doesn't taste fresh. The restaurant is hot and while the service from the mom was nice the teenager had a rude attitude. Overall the atmosphere, service and food were not very good so I will...
Read moreSo happy to have a great spot for ramen in Joplin FINALLY. On par or better than ramen I’ve had in bigger cities. I got the spicy tonkatsu ramen at level 2 spicy, I intend on trying 3 out of 5 next time as 2 was a comfy warm to me. The broth was rich and creamy, noodles had good flavor and bounce, pork had a nice char and smoky flavor. My husband had the Chashu and rice, nice flavor there too although a little more sauce could have been added for us. The thai tea was not too sweet, good flavor, on par with magic noodle, a long standing local favorite. We also enjoyed the Gyoza and egg rolls however the dipping sauce they came with was an almost microscopic portion due to the serving dish they use. In future I might ask for extra on the side. The service was prompt and attentive, we went mid afternoon on a weekend so with how small the seating area is I wonder how it would be on a busy evening for dinner but for us it was quite nice. Seemed clean and the general atmosphere was cheery. Will absolutely be back! Happy to have this...
Read moreDid you know that 'hot' is a flavor?
Not spicy, I mean steam-rolling-off, lips-almost-melting mouth-can-barely-stand kind of hot.
We are talking about piping. Hot. Ramen.
They got spice too. Which I also like but I ain't no fool...I started with 1 and we'll try a 2 next time but nonetheless, it was a fantastic dish!
I had the Creamy Chicken Katsu Ramen which comes in a creamy broth w/ a marinated boiled egg, narutomaki and green onion and nori. ( Had to ask about what most of that was )
Every part of this dish was delicious in flavor but let me reiterate....it waaaas nice and hot.
On a previous trip, went for the SUSHI. The Mango Crunch Roll, to be exact. Also, a slam duuunk! So far, suuuper good.
Check em out, they are a quality...
