This was my first experience at this restaurant, however my parents have been here multiple times and raved about how great the food was so I had pretty high expectations. When we first arrived we were told we could not come in and had to wait up against the wall outside while it was raining. Luckily there was a small awning so we didn't get too wet. Once we made our way in we were told we had to order before sitting down, no problem. I had told them it was my first time and they offered to help me with the menu, which I thought was very kind, but it quickly took a turn. After she explained all of the food options I asked about possibly taking the avocado off the breakfast taco and she said that was fine, but apparently they draw the line at adding salsa to the tacos that don't already come with it. She laughed at me, like I should know any better, and said "yeah, no we can't do all that." I decided to just order two pancakes to make it easier on them. We got our food and let me tell you, I was extremely disappointed. The syrup for the pancakes tasted like beer, it's just not my preference so my mom traded me because she didn't mind the taste. She ordered a Benny Harper, which tasted fine but it was cold. As we were finishing our meals, my mom went up to the counter to ask for a refund for the Nutella crepes we were supposed to get. The lady said no and then yelled back to the cooks to make the Nutella crepes. We were there for 1 hour before someone came up to us and told us we had to leave because they had to "turn the table." Mind you, there was no one inside or outside waiting for a table. This place had a very weird vibe and the staff were just plain rude. I believe that the system they have set up to pay and tip beforehand is obviously because no one in their right mind would tip them after the service they receive in this...
Read moreOne of my favorite eateries in the Joplin area. I drive from Neosho for breakfast or lunch. It's THAT GOOD. It reminds me of Berkely, CA or Santa Cruz, CA. Good, wholesome food. They have lots of gluten free options, including crepes!!
UPDATE 2/3/18: Before I write this review I want to say that this is still one of my favorite restaurants and I will continue to eat here as a result. But today I tried the lobster Benny and got it gluten-free with a buckwheat crêpe. The holiday sauce and eggs were perfect as I’ve come to expect here. Unfortunately the lobster was very over cooked I mean to the point of Chewy. And a couple of bites were a bit fishy which made me think not fresh. Don’t get me wrong it was good enough to eat; I did finish everything but I won’t get it again because the lobster was that chewy. And I’m a lobster lover! I hate giving them any negative review but I want to be honest and candid when I give reviews. Having said all of this, it is still one of my favorite restaurants and I will absolutely be back enjoying everything...

I had not previously heard of this unassuming gem of a restaurant until last night when a friend asked me to go today.
The establishment is quite small yet quant, AND one can DEFINITELY tell that it is quality as soon as one enters!
We had to wait to order and be seated for the place was bursting at the seams!
The menu and plates that I saw were each unique and trendy - a "flavor" that was not available in Joplin until now!
I had the Darth Vato Migas (Chorizo egg scramble) as recommended by the "house".
It was truly one of the most flavorful that I have tasted!
Update:
Returned a week later, and ordered breakfast: 2x BA Baracus Migas.
The meals were quite nice as was my first visit. No complaints.
Of these two scrambles, my preference is the Darth Vato Migas for its chorizo.
Overall, I feel that the Vato offers more flavor and a hint of spice (Chorizo). If your preference is a lighter scramble, the Baracus is...
