New York Pizza & Deli — Restaurant in Joplin

We walked to eat at the restaurant rather than delivery as recommended by the store in the reply to my earlier review.(read my earlier review below) The restaurant had no other patrons. The hostess was walking towards us and the cook in the back yells out "what time is it?!" to the hostess and the other cook behind the counter. No welcome or what'll it be,guys? Just "what time is it"?! Basically letting us know they didn't want to serve us. The poor hostess was embarrassed and told us to not mind him because she can help us. We get it,25min to close might not be ideal. Our Working late is not the reataurants problem.They could have let us know that we can only order to go if eating in was the problem. We felt pushed out by his yelled comment and didn't trust the food would be done right since obviously he didn't want to cook 25min before closing. Pretty rude. So we walked out. Never experienced this before in any other establishment and it's not a good feeling. Don't know why we got treated like that. Maybe the color of our skin. Who knows. I guess we should have ordered delivery again but it may not have been good either. Definitely going to think hard before coming here again.

Orders through DoorDash which is great because Carmines (which is the restaurant NYPD replaced) did not do delivery towards the end of their shutting down. The sauce on our NYPD pepperoni pizza was delicious but the sandwich (spicy Italian sandwich) was just as delicious. I wish the crust was a little bit more thinner and crispy, like the New York style oven baked pizza. But I still recommend this place and will be...

I JUST ORDERED AGAIN VIA DOOR DASH & AM LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING IF THEIR CHICAGO BEEF IS AS GOOD AS IN THE WINDY CITY. The guys who took mine and my fiances order ( he was bald ) was VERY rude.. I was so nice and smiling even tho he was being mean.. as soon as we walked through the door, he acted like we was an inconvenience. They had 3 people in there so I know he wasn’t upset because they were busy. I felt like we couldn’t even ask a question because he was very snooty and seemed annoyed with his responses. I can say tho that the other guys working there seemed nice. The pizza is not worth it. I wasn’t even hungry anymore after dealing with him. I also realized that it wasn’t just us. A couple came in after us and asked him a question and he was VERY rude to them as well!! All they did was ask a question. Like dude?? Just answer their question. I’m very upset with this encounter. WILL NOT BE BACK!! I’m not one for making reviews but this one...
