Nick & Johnny's Osteria — Restaurant in Juno Beach

I never leave bad reviews but I feel compelled to for this experience at this place. As per their voice-mail instructions I left a message to make a reservation for Christmas Eve at 7:30 for dinner of a party of 5. According to their instructions they only call you if they can not accommodate you. I never heard anything back from them so I assumed my reservation was good. We went there on Christmas Eve at the time of our reservation and was met with the rudest hostess, Regina or Gina, and was told that she didn't get my information and that was no way to make a reservation and that the owner put that message in their voice-mail but that's not how she does things. Then she lectured me that I should know better. I asked her if she could accommodate us or not she said sure I can sit you outside. We were having a cold spell in Florida and it was freezing out. At 48 degrees, I could not have my 80 year old mother sitting out there. I told her forget it and started to leave. She told me I should speak to the owner about so I am. You should be aware that this is happening since you read these reviews. You should know how your employees speak about you and how they treat your customers. We have dined at your establishment in the past and used to love going to Nick's Tomato. Never had any issues, food was always good and the staff was always pleasant. But this hostess with the chip on her shoulder shouldn't work in hospitality service. She did neither you nor me any service. Your response has nothing to do with what my issue was. They were still closing at 9. They had customers coming in. It was his demeanor and his attitude towards a customer was my issue. Do you want an unwelcoming greeting…well come to this place! As soon as I walked in, it was only 8 PM they’re closing time is 9 PM. He just stared at me and I said “table for one” and he proceeded to look at his watch and tap it with his index finger And had the audacity to tell me I’m cutting it close yet I had a whole hour . Did not even know why I was there and I just wanted a glass of wine, but his whole demeanor and his approach to me was extremely unprofessional and unwelcoming and it put me in such a mood that I didn’t even finish my drink I just paid and left. I’m going to assume it was the “wonderful” hostess in the front. Left a bad taste in my mouth, especially that I spend a lot of money around here in different restaurants. I just went down the road to a sushi spot and they were extremely nice smiling and happy to receive guests at this time. As a good customer I still paid and left the bartender a tip because she wasn’t the problem. I did my part regardless of how I was treated after working 12 hours. This is located in a very small town there’s only a few places to go for pizza. I show up tonight sit down to order my traditional pizza and salad to be told there’s no pizza being served tonight because they have live entertainment and you have to order off of a special menu. Please note no one at the door informed me of this I made a decision to go here tonight specifically for pizza and I learned I wasn’t the only one there was three other people I spoke to at the bar who showed up sat down ready to order the pizza to be told no pizza. Can you imagine showing up to outback to be told there’s no Bloomin onion or cheese fries? What business would just randomly make the decision to do this it wasn’t that they didn’t have pizza they were trying to do a price fix menu and never posted it on their front Door nor did the hostess inform you. I also learned that if you choose to sit in the dining room versus the room immediately to the right where the hostess is located which is considered the bar area although there’s several booths and table is a different menu. It’s a very complicated place with a lot of rules that continue to change. And unfortunately there’s no way to find out about these changes until you show up.
