Went for a birthday dinner this past Saturday. I checked out many reviews before and there were some that were down on the ambiance and decor of this spot. I was a little leery but gave it a shot because the food reviews were all very good. To make it clear right away, the ambiance and decor were not a disappointment at all. It was fine for us. It wasn't super fancy but it wasn't bad or tacky at all. It was perfect for the occasion.

Started with appetizers of Brussel Sprouts and Bruschetta. Both were excellent! The Brussel Sprouts were perfectly cooked and not charred and bitter like a lot of places do. The Balsamic Vinaigrette was perfect. You can tell it was freshly made in-house. And the Bruschetta was so fresh and well put together. The Prosciutto on it was delicious and the rest of the ingredients were chopped perfectly and fresh as I said. Two thumbs up. :)

I had Ribeye Steak medium rare, Loaded Baked Potato and Asparagus. Steak was cooked perfect, Potato was on the smaller size but in the end I was glad it wasn't huge because I would have been overstuffed. The Asparagus was a tad overcooked but still crunchy enough to not send back. The flavor was fine. I ate everything on my plate!

The rest of my party had Filet Mignon, Lamb Shanks and NY Steak. I had a taste of the Garlic Potatoes and they were delicious. The Mac N Cheese they said was ok, both stating they like a more baked, crust top style vs. the super cheesy one they were served.

Well....the Birthday Girl ordered the NY Steak Medium Rare and when she cut into it I noticed right away it was overcooked. She said it was ok and our Friend insisted she ask for a replacement. When the waitress, I did not get her name (she wore glasses and was super nice and attentive) came to ask how things were our Friend spoke up regarding the "well done" steak. The owner then came out and explained that "dry aged" meat and that particular cut doesn't come out the same as other steaks. So they brought out a replacement and it was borderline "rare" and not medium rare. The Birthday Girl didn't care for it and it was also over salted. She ate some of it and we took the rest to go which I will eat later tonight. The Owner came out again and Birthday Girl was honest about the new steak. She wasn't mean at all, kind of embarrassed as she really didn't want to ask for another one. He apologized sincerely and you can tell by his tone and look in his eye that he cared and felt bad. I totally appreciated that. It doesn't happen often in this day and age. Two thumbs up for his service and attempt to resolve. Myself, I was trained at Le Cordon Bleu Culinary years ago. My opinion....1st steak was cooked about 2 minutes too long and the replacement needed about 1 more minute cooked and it would have been a perfect "medium rare."

So through it all, the food was very good but that NY had some problems. I really loved and appreciated their attempt to make us happy. Birthday Girl got a complimentary Freshly made Chocolate Chip Cookie with Ice Cream, fudge and Strawberry topper and was sung Happy Birthday by some of the staff. A very nice touch. :)

I would definitely go back but avoid the NY Steak. But that was the Birthday Girl's choice. Overall the appetizers were delicious and the food was great. Our server was awesome and very attentive. She was still given a great tip. Thank you for the great meal. The owner and staff sure cared about...

(Update - went back a couple weeks ago and had the exact same experience. Steak was good, but not quite high-end level. Sides are so tiny, almost comically small, and my rice was undercooked again. The veggies were great, but just so little on the plate. My wife ordered asparagus, and literally got like two pieces; that's just a crazy way to lose repeat business. But I'm going to keep trying after a few more months; maybe a lift in business will lead to better decisions; there is potential here. The steak was good, but with the quality and current sides, the meal should be $30 tops. $40, when you figure out the sides. They have finally gotten a liquor license, so I'm told, so that's good. The original review, below, still holds for now.)

3.5 stars (4 stars if their prices or quality were corrected). Staff was great, and they seem to have an interesting Sunday brunch. They just need to do a better job of defining what type of establishment they are.

I rate based on expectation, and my expectations are set fairly based on the type of establishment. This place is reminiscent of any other neighborhood Steakhouse. So you normally would have to rate it based on that expectation. However, their prices are that of a lower-high end steakhouse. So that raises the bar on food expectations, and this place simply doesn't fit that kind of bill.

$45-$60 for a 12oz NY is absolutely fine at a high end steakhouse. But I expect a prime-thick cut steak, cooked as ordered... A high end atmosphere and creative sides; and a liquor license. That's not the experience here. The rice was under cooked and portioned small, and the steak was cut uneven (so part was well done; part was medium well). I ordered it medium. Again, if the steak was cut/cooked right and this was a higher end place; no issues paying $50'ish for the steak alone. But this place appears to be charging more, because business is slow (likely due to the construction and Newsome blunders). Mind you, they bring two pieces of bread, then charge $0.75 per roll. And it isn't brown or focaccia bread... You know something special; just a dinner roll. That kind of stuff feels cheap; like skipping out on croutons to save a buck.

Now I'm not hating on the place. I ultimately liked my steak, and my wife's steak was cooked correctly. The sides need to be better portioned, and redesigned, but if my meal was $35, I wouldn't be mentioning any of this. I got what I was expecting from a neighborhood steakhouse; the price just didn't fit, and that likely reduces the overall business patrons as well. Of course, they could go the other way too, and truly go upscale; I'd love an upscale steakhouse nearby. It's not the money, it's the value for the money. You go to a restaurant for atmosphere and a dinner you wouldn't cook for yourself at home.

We'll give them another shot; maybe the brunch. Again; wasn't bad (I'd suggest people try this place). But I think they need to pivot (one way or the other) to fine...

Over priced buffet, not a great variety of food, menudo was great, omelets, steak tomahawk, chicken was dry and tasteless everything else you can get at your regular every day buffet and you will even get a elwider variety of dishes, unfortunately it didn't meet our expectations on top of the overpriced brunch, drinks are not included, $18 dollars extra for bottomless mimosas, and on top of it found hair on the items I got off my food, I'm not exaggerating you can see the bill for your self, we drove over an hour hyped by a post in IG but not the best ad they described for our party , but you might like it, thank you all stay posted for the next review follow me for more reviews.

RESPONSE TO OWNER:** Thank you for responding to my review. Unfortunately, when I addressed the hair that was found on my food, our waitress It didn't seem like she cared about the fact of hairs being found in the food. She just said, "Do you wanna to just go grab something else? Honestly, by that time finding hair in our food, it just Took my appetite away, In regard to your description of all the items that you are mentioning at the buffed, I was able to just count what my fingers. How many different items did you really have on the buffet? Not more than 10. Unfortunately, like I'd mentioned before, I saw it that it is very pricey for what it was offered. Yes, I understand. That your stakes are offered, but besides the stakes, I never saw the shrimp cocktails. I never saw many of the other items that you mentioned. In regards of the mimosas, most of the other buffettes or branches that I've attend, they usually offer it and it's a Way lower price, they do over.At your brunch buffet, I, I am just giving my honest opinion and As I had mentioned it before, videos and pictures have been provided so that people really know what is it to be expected then rather to be hyped by social media, Thank you wish...

Wanted to grab a quick bite to eat and decided to take a chance on a local steakhouse and I'm glad we did! We were greeted with a smile and we were able to sit wherever we wanted and were presented menus. Our server promptly returned to obtain our order. After bringing our drinks our server provided us with warm rolls along with butter. I appreciated the butter temperature which allowed me to spread it without tearing up the roll. I really enjoyed it! After agreeing not to order appetizers we decided to just try entrées. From the prime dried aged cuts, I ordered the 12 oz ribeye with sides being a fully loaded potato and asparagus. My husband ordered a half rack of baby back ribs with his sides being garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. After a reasonable amount of time our food was presented. I requested a medium cooked steak and unfortunately it was more on the rare side of doneness. I decided not to return it because I was so hungry. My steak was very tender and I thoroughly enjoyed the flavor profile. I appreciate how they presented the "fully loaded" items for my baked potato and my asparagus was properly cooked. My husband ate his ribs with a fork because the meat fell right off the bone when he attempted to pick up a rib. He said that the barbecue sauce was on the tangy side which he enjoyed. Overall, we were pleased with our food and experience. The only two complaints I have would be having to order Pepsi because they do not offer Coke and the temperature of my steak. I specifically asked the server if I wanted a light pink in the middle of my steak how should I order and he said medium. Next time I'll order medium well and it should be perfect. Looking forward to the next time we go and try their appetizers, soups, salads and other entrées.
