Hungry Howie's Pizza — Restaurant in Kalamazoo

Very poor attention to detail. Within the last 5 weeks I have ordered delivery and each time even though charged extra for the sub sauce and mayo, that are supposed to come with my order, they do not bring them when delivered. 1st time I didn't complain, 2nd time only got sub sauce didn't complain, 3rd time got not one sauce, Delivery driver at the time said he'd be right back, I waited an hour and he NEVER returned. So the 5th time I ordered a pizza instead of my favorite sandwich because they can't get a packet of sauce right, I asked for ranch with my pizza over the phone, they typed it in instead of charging me, so when it was delivered I was told "its on the ticket, but you didn't pay for it?" Um did I not ask for it, so that's my fault your incompetent staff doesn't know how to up sell in your system correctly. Was told he'd be back with my ranch again NEVER came back. So because I really like their Calzones I thought I'd try it again, I called specifically to the Portage rd location Talked to James K, explained my issues with allllllll of my other orders in the past 5 weeks, stressed how much they've messed them up and that is was a MUST i got , informed him of how many times I was charged for sauce and never received it, just for him to charge me AGAIN and then send it out for delivery AGAIN with NO MAYO!! The delivery driver seems to be upset with the kitchen as well as he has this issue ALL the time, I called and spoke to Mike and finally i received a step towards service recovery. Mike and the delivery driver on 5/5/16 for order # 102 were more than understanding and handled the situation the best they could. Thank you for bringing my mayo back in a timely manner with a smile on your face. I hope that someone can retrain the back of the house employees to read the specific requests correctly and make sure this doesn't happen in the future, five more...

I can not rave about this place enough. I've been coming to this specific Hungry Howies since my husband and I moved here in 2021, and we've never had a single issue. Our old town had one, and it was subpar, so we were hesitant to try the one here. I'm so glad we did.

We love the Hawaiian and supreme pizza, especially with the stuffed crust. Even if you dont get the stuffed crust, the garlic coating makes even the most boring part of the pizz absolutely delicious. Also, I love their garlic cheese bread so much I'd eat it as a meal if I was less of a responsible adult.

The staff, especially the drivers, have always been super nice. Any time I go into the store and see them interact with fellow employees and the other customers, I am impressed. They have always been professional and calm, even when dealing with the local Karen's.

Called in for a deal they had 2 pizzas with 2 toppings. Had asked initially if it possible to put the two toppings on one pizza and none on the other. She said ok then at end she wanted to charge for the extra topping as one pizza had two toppings. !! So long story short she said that maybe she was not clear the first time around. And that if she did what we asked for then she will be gaming the system ( her words). We said from a product perspective it does not change a thing using the same amount of ingredients overall. We said just keep the way it is one topping on each and we will pick it ourselves and put it on the other pizza. Her attitude was rather ( I don’t carish ….).
