Jaenicke's Root Beer Stand — Restaurant in Kankakee

DO NOT eat here if you want good customer service or to receive the food you order. The person taking the orders does not know their own menu, and will screw up the simplest of an order.

Also, DO NOT come here if you are in a hurry. DO NOT expect have your problem resolved if they screw it up. No offer of a refund, or an apology, just a dramatic order taker who acted like my issue wasn’t a big deal, followed by the cook verbally expressing his irritation as he offered to remake my order, which I didn’t have time for. I threw my food in their garbage can and left. I’m headed to find food somewhere else right now, and I will never be back here. It’s very irritating that I spent money on food that went straight into the garbage. It’s crazy to think a place like this can stay in business when they treat...

Of all the times and days months and years since i all was drove past both Jaenicke's places and I've all was wanted to stop and give them a try and sure enough ever since i got myself and my girlfriend Keri hucked onto this place and both locations we love both places more than any other place around the Kankakee County Area but I'm all was messing around with her seeing who comes here the most than she does and I love your guys chili dogs and fry and definitely your Root Beer for sure and I'll keep on continuing to do business at both locations and spread the word out there on the street for both locations too how great it is and how good your food is and...

Childhood memories. It still stands. One of the few safe places one can relax outside and get a blast from the past. The hot dogs and fries were delicious. The root beer was smooth and sweet w vanilla. Oh, how I miss the glass mugs. I miss the waitress coming to my car. This is not Jaenikes fault. They are just being safe and keeping the price down. I still had fun. I saw my sister's in my memories. They all worked there. It was the Kankakee I remember. Yes, it costs more today. Tell me what does not? You can't put a price on fun and memories. Just go and enjoy it. There's happy times...
