In the words of my youngest daughter, "A Hormel meal and a can of corn would be preferable!"
I have been to many Chinese buffets and Asian restaurants between Florida, Indiana, New York and North Carolina. I have eaten fare that made me question whether I was eating cat or dog. I have taken my tongue to potentially terrible places. This place was surprisingly, very sad.
Much of the food was cold and had the taste of edibles long forgotten to time and space. The selection was minimal at best with only the most generic types of 'American Chinese' cuisine. Thinking that my first plate was simply a bad pick, I tried two other plates with other foods in hope that I would unearth the saving grace that drew people to this establishment. My dietary archaeological expedition was unsuccessful despite the brave souls of my family trying their best to find something that would be memorable. The small selection of desserts was good, though these small pieces of flavor are the most basic of such offerings with some fresh fruit and a few cakes. I admit I did not try the sushi after inspecting it. My tongue gave me a clear warning that it was denying the funds for this expedition of taste to continue. Even my son, who is notorious for wanting 3-4 plates at a buffet, was satisfied with his single plate and a dessert of pudding. For 77.00 dollars and some change, I could have my kids microwave some ramen with vegetables and feel like I had a more authentic experience and at the very least; a tasty experience.
The restaurant itself presents a very clean establishment with a decor that feels like they couldn't decide between oriental or 'make it look fancy' which results in a rather generic 'we have a Buddha!' feeling. The staff was friendly when spoken to but absent unless truly needed.
In the end, there are many places around here that offer much better fare for the price or cheaper than this location. I am left feeling like the inflated price is making me pay more for the food they know they will throw out rather than a quality experience, hence I am sad. They could do so much more, but are content with mediocre. Next time I want something Asian. I will go anywhere else, even the place that might...
Read moreThis was my second visit to this place, I went in about 3:11 pm, the guy placed our receipt on the table. I went to bar to get food sat down about 10 minutes got back up to grab another plate and as I was placing the food on my plate I got called out in front of everyone that the food I was grabbing was for supper. I looked at the gentleman confused bc I didn't understand why I was being called out like that in front of other customers. Apparantly supper gets serviced at 3:30 , and I had gotten served lunch price bc I arrived 11 minutes before supper price had started which I was not aware of that being my second time there only. I was completely embarrassed bc he could have approached that differently by just stating it before I had purchased that I was getting the lunch and not supper. I didn't see the receipt bc he had taken it to the table as I went to grab a plate and serve myself. I did have My spouse go up front and pay for the difference since I got food on my plate that was for supper not lunch. I think that he should have said in 11 more minutes we will be serving supper would u prefer that since there is a different price and different food served at that time. Ten minutes I sat and got up to get food only to be told this. Let's just say I have never been approached in that manner of embarrassment when I was not aware of being served or charged for lunch when supper was 11 min later. That will be last and only time I go there. Someone needs to address the person that works the front on how to approach a customer a different way other than yelling it out for others to just listen and judge it's just not professional, there should have been a better approach for...
Read moreWe stopped to get a bite to eat and stepped inside to get a table. The lady at the front quickly got us all the way to the back of the restaurant as fast as she could without making eye contact. As we were walking to the table I could tell their air conditioning was not working. Tried to ask her about it and didn't get a answer she just wanted to know what we wanted to drink. It was so hot we were sweating at the table. When drinks were brought out the cups tasted like bug spray and all were flat . Almost like water had been added. Food was cold and what was warm looked like it had been there a while. Bathrooms were moldy. Fan above toilet was nasty with cobwebs. This was the worst restaurant we have ever been to. People that was working there was rude and acted like they were mad we were there. I have never been so miserable at a restaurant in my whole life. We got to the front to pay and lady said that their air conditioner had been out a week and was going to cost $20,000 to fix so they had to stay open to be able to fix it. We told her we would never return there again. Acted as if that meant nothing to her and charged our family $100 dollars for that slop. Don't waste your money on this place . Left...
