I normally never leave a review, but for this great tasting small business I will. I have been here several times with my husband and each time it was consistence in food and service, which I love. This is like a fast food setting, so you would go up to the counter and order your food. Once your pager goes off, you pick up your food, eat, and put it up. The first time I was there I tried their spicy noodle soup, and I was honestly surprised at how good it taste. That says a lot because my dad makes it all the time. And home made cooking are always the best, and this place is a good substitute for when my dad does not feel like cooking. Then the last few times I been there I ventured out and got their banh mi and pho. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of their menu items. And I recently found out that they run Banh Mi specials on Wednesdays! Great day to try out their banh mi for a low price. Needless to say they will continue to get...
Read moreWhat a great find! Came here in early September and ended up leaving happy. I ordered the grilled beef banh mi and a grilled chicken banh mi for my wife, with a regular drink. All together was about $18. The banh mis run about $7 a piece, but they have pho or rice dishes for $13+. I was pleasantly surprised at how full I was from my sandwich, and the flavor was amazing. Paired with the chili flakes they have inside, or sriracha to top it, really enhanced the experience. One detail though, my wife did mention that parts of her chicken banh mi felt dry. The parts that had their sauce on it did not have this issue, so might just need to ask for extra sauce if you grab the grilled chicken. Though I didn't have it this time, I will likely be back to try the pho, especially since they have a cold bar with self serve add ins. Think cilantro, bean...
Read moreStopped in to grab dinner one slow evening and ordered one pork and one beef banh mi to go. I've eaten a lot of banh mi and these were nowhere near the top of my list. There was almost no flavor difference between the pork and the beef. There's no pate, which isn't that unusual in KC. The sauce, I'm guessing mayo based, had a strange, unpleasant, gritty texture to it and didn't add much beyond there being far too much so the sandwich was messy. The bread was just fine.
The restaurant was clean, albeit empty, and our food was ready quickly, so that was a plus. One interesting thing they do is to put the meat on the bun but they give you the other toppings in a small bag. This is actually probably useful for people who don't want a lot of don't want jalapeno.
I might try something else here but I'll go elsewhere...
