Don Rudy's KC — Restaurant in Kansas City

I've been here a few times to try out the menu, so I'll explain it here.

The shredded chicken has little to no flavor honestly. I wouldn't order it, unless you have a weak pallet then by all means go ahead.

The burritos are more than $5 and are about 6inches long 2 and a half inches wide. Honestly for the price I would get more substance and flavor from chipotle for two of their behemoth tacos.

The tortas are mediocre, they don't have a balance of ingredients. They're not that big and they're over $8. It feels like the veggie ingredients overpower the meat and essentially it hides the little flavor contained in the meat.

Two incidents.

One: My order was forgotten and I had to wait for quite some time to get my order. (But, to be fair, I did get a free drink for it the wait)

Two: My family was overcharged as well. They paid about $35 for a torta($8), a burrito($5.25), a side of rice($1), beans($1) and two colas($2 each so $4). This all amounted to under $20 before tax, but somehow got charged an extra $15. When attempting to explain the overcharge, it was brushed off as that being the actual price for everything and we were basically robbed an extra $14 or so.

I expected better service after about 3 months being there.

I would recommend Tacos el Matador down the street or El Torito Taquería on Central Ave. The tortas, burritos, quesadillas and tacos are all under $6 and a lot bigger at El Torito. Tacos el Matador has huge tortas that are worth the price, because...

My Friend and I Arrived moments before close, We were returning to the place from memory and tracked the truck down by following the vibes emanating from this wonderful little spot. The owner is a wonderfully welcoming and personable guy. The food is exceptional. I will definitely be returning for another visit 10/10 totally recommend!!! They have tap to pay as well. My fiancé and I have ordered from here 3 or 4 times and it is delicious 100% of the time. If you're ordering for the first time, I reccomend the quesabirrilla. You really can't go wrong with it, the great quality is so consistent. We haven't sampled the whole menu, but everything we've tried is phenomenal: birrilla torta, birrilla tacos and the quesabirrila. The quesabirrilla comes with the consume' which, in my opinion, is like the "icing" on the cake.
