Editing to amend the original review after a very poor experience that followed.
This was the original review: "Good service. Good food. Glad to see continued distancing measures being taken, with every other booth table tipped so people are kept distanced."
So, the original visit was fine. The bill was $25.31 and I tipped $7.00. Only, when it showed up on my bank transactions it was $55.69. I stopped in after work a couple of days later and spoke to the bartender, who was a manager I believe. She took my name and number and said she'd have to look it up and see what happened and would call me back after lunch. Which she did. It was an honest mistake, as I assumed and know happens. She offered to refund the difference to my card or to comp a meal for $35. I opted to take the comped meal since my husband and I eat there fairly often. No "use by" date was given or anything so we waited until today to go and get our meal. My husband was sure we were going to get screwed and there would be no knowledge of the offer and I had really hoped they would prove him wrong, but he was right. My name was not on the comp list/book as promised.
The waitperson came back to inform us and ask for more information. I explained the overcharge and she went back to the manager, who I assume went to go look into it because some time passed before our waitperson returned to inform us that they would "try to make it right". I asked what that meant and she said that they would comp $20 or $25. Which would have been fine, really, but that was not what we were offered originally and not what we expected. I stuck to my guns and told her we wanted the full $35 that was originally promised to us.
She went back and had some back and forth with who I assume was the manager at the bar and eventually came back and said they would honor it, making it seem like they were doing us some big favor. We ordered what we thought would come to around $35. We usually order off the a la cart menu and our bills are generally right around the same price of $25 or so dollars. So I ordered an entree today to help reach approximately the comped price. We still got charged $7.50, not getting the full $35 comp after all. We were just over the whole thing and left $15 for the bill and the tip and left. My husband apologized to the waitperson for her getting stuck in the middle. None of it was her fault.
Pretty disappointed with how this was all handled. Which is too bad because we've really enjoyed this...
Read moreSo during the shut in I was driving w/my business partner today & he decided he wanted to see if we could stop @Margarita's for drink's to go so as I pulled in & we saw the sign on the window you needed to place a carry out order over the phone when driving thru so as I drove he got out the phone & attempted to get a order placed prior to getting to the door and we did not get it done before we got up to the door we got them on the phone and was immediately placed on the order but had to go back around the line to give time to wait on the food to be fixed. However my partner said he visit there often I have only ever been there once in my life and I did not know nor was I familiar with the menu. I was not use to what the food came w/or nothing. My partner when he placed my order asked me what I wanted and I said beef only burrito and he said okay and order it never did I think it would have something other than what I wanted on it. So after our business meeting ending we came to my business partner house and I took out the food we purchased this was only 45-1 hour later and it had beans on it. I called back the order number to get it corrected and order so I could take it back as I had not even eaten a bite. I got a busy signal for the first 5 calls then I got a lady on the phone that did not identify herself. I explained that I had been their previously this evening & provided the details of the order. That it was not correct and when the lady that answered the phone heard what I said she spoke to me very loud almost yelling, disrespectful "said our beef burrito come w/beans" how did you order it? I said I order a "beef only burrito". I then said I would like to have it replaced she said she would charge me the full price. I then said I order only a beef burrito & did not get what I ordered. Again she almost yelling said our burrito comes with beans. I as I had been politely the entire call, said "that I order only a beef burrito" but she yelled yet again the same as she said. So I politely said that this is not going anywhere and ended the call.
At this point I have only visited this actually resturant and I did not have the opportunity to view a menu ordering over the phone and never having ordered this item. This is a place I no longer plan to visit or patronize anymore due the treatment I...
Read moreGen Mgr Melissa Baska lied whilst we were less than 5 feet away from her waiting for our party of two to be seated, stating she called our name to be seated. I was making eye contact with her the entire time. She never once called for us to be seated and commenced to seating everyone else who came in after us. We never got belligerent but we're told to leave by Officer Davis because we wanted to know why we weren't being seated and finally asking for Corporate's phone number. She gave us a wrong number. Where are the cards with that info on it? Very unprofessional. As many times as we've frequented the establishment, we can no longer, in good conscience, patronize the Martin City restaurant due to the blatant disrespectful and dismissive behaviour of the General Manager. Instead of just acknowledging her mistake and trying to rectify the situation and finding a way to seat us, we were lied to and about several times within 3 minutes. First it was, I called your party. Then it was the bartender said you were wearing a red shirt, neither one of us had on anything red and she did not get that info from the bartender. Then she commenced to say that we told her our entire party of two, Two, wasn't there when we both walked in together and we're waiting to be called. We were also told that a particular table that could only be seated up to 4 people clearly was going to be for an incomplete party of 6. They were seated somewhere else as soon as the other 3 showed up. We've always gone to that location. Especially on a Tuesday for their extremely oily beef...
