Max’s Burgers and Gyros — Restaurant in Kansas City

I love little burger shacks like this, and Max's didn't disappoint! I have talked into this small hidden gem and ordered the Big MaxBurger combo of with tots and a coke. The meal came out to $17 and some change for the whole experience. The inside of the restaurant is small, and seating is limited, but don't let the size or the decor change your mind about stopping here. The walls are decorated with photos of family members and there is a small fish tank near the front that captures the eyes of guests as they wait for their food. The gentlemen working there were very nice and accommodating while handling the inflow of customers behind me with ease. The burger was fresh and delicious, and was worth every penny. MAX'S BURGERS & GYROS 82040 Wornall Rd Kansas City Mo. This burger joint has been here 36 years New owner took over in 1986. I stopped in and was not disappointed. Only one customer is allowed in at a time. The owner hits a buzzer and lets you in. You place your order and he fixes it and then brings it out to you. He then buzzes in the next customer. This was put in place due to local covid restrictions and lack of help. Currently its a one man show. The owner of this resturant figured out how to adapt and overcome. As I sit here writing this in his parking lot a steady stream of customers are waiting patiently for their turn to go in and place an order for an kickass cheeseburger. I was craving a burger so I looked online. I saw the reviews and thought I should try it. A little out of my way, but the reviews said it was really good. I ordered the max and a gyro. Why? Because the name of the place says burgers and gyros....ok...so the reviews did not do justice to the food. I met Max, who took my order, and when I return (oh I will) I will be telling him thank you. I have traveled a lot and love little local spots. This food... the gyro...traditional flavor. Beautiful. The burger??? Hands down the absolute best burger I have ever had for flavor. Ingredients fresh. Seasoning magical and not overpowering. Perfectly balanced. Go. Go now. Get two of each. They are huge and you won't be able to eat it all, but...
