Saturday evening, 5/10/25 at 11:01PM I went to the Sonic on 82nd and Wornall. After ordering at the speaker I pulled up. The car in front of the car in front of me pulled away from the window. Then the car in front of me pulled up to the window. There was a dog leaning out of the driver side rear window. A woman in blue came to the window saying it was taking so long because they were short help and the person couldn't bother coming in for 4 hours for an 8-12pm shift. She said it wasn't the first time it's happened and even though she was an assistant manager that that was the last time that would happen. I, myself, work and an upscale steakhouse in Leawood and at times we're short staffed but don't complain to the guests. Worse than that, the woman said that seeing the dog just made her night better and proceeded to lean out the window and pet and play with the dog even leaning over so the doggie could lick her face. I could not see inside buy I certainly hope this woman washed her hands before preparing my food as it looked like there were only two employees, her and the order taker who had to keep running outside to use a machine on the outside wall to process credit cards. If they can't run the shift efficiently then maybe close for the night and start again the next day. Not professional at all and quite assuredly against...

update: by noon the next day i had not received a refund or a call from the general manager (as promised by the employee i spoke to the night before.) i called the store and spoke to the GM Justin who has horrible customer service and frankly shouldnāt be in charge of anything. he told me he wouldnāt be able to issue a refund since it wasnāt the same day, but could give me a credit (why would i want to return to sonic after this experience?) and advised me to call the sonic help line. they issued my refund (which takes 7-10 business days) and gave me a coupon. everythingās resolved but iām still left wondering:
Second time having a bad experience. The first time which was about a week ago I placed an order on the app and when I arrived I waited like usual and it said someone would be on the way with my drink. 10 mins later nobody comes and I call nobody answers. Waited another two minutes and they finally answered and brought my drink out. Yesterday I decided to give it another chance. I pulled in the drive through and waited FOREVER!! once I got to the window I gave the lady my card and sometimes swipe doesnāt work so it has to be typed in. She said it didnāt work and asked if I had another card, I told her no but if itās typed in it works. She gave me the rudest look and slammed the window in my face and gave me my card back. 30 seconds later she said it worked and told me āI donāt type in a customers card numbers because it takes too much time and itās busyā. Iām sorry but this is the worst customer service ever. Iāve never had an issue with sonic before and she was the first person ever to complain about me asking her to type in my card number SO THAT I CAN PAY FOR MY DRINK!!
