Oh. My. Goodness. This was the best food I've had in months. And the service! Mohammed was the nicest person coming over to personally introduce us to the menu items and thoroughly explaining any questions we had. His wife, Chef Kay, the culinary MASTERMIND came out and said hello to all the customers. We had the Mashawi meat sampler plate with hummus, falafel and the Friday special, Mansaf. The Mashawi plate had chicken, lamb, and beef Kabob which were the juiciest Kabob I've ever had as well deliciously seasoned chicken and lamb Shwarma and saffron rice. The Mansaf was a lamb shank with safron rice and a cooked yogurt sauce. Absolutely delicious. The pitas were the best pitas and the hummus has this amazing toasted tahini flavor. The desserts were to die for. The Kanafeh is this fantastic savory and sweet and melty cheese pastry. Zalabia, a sweet honey pretzel. A fluffy blueberry Jordanian cheesecake, fantastic. And an assortment of other amazing desserts, baklava, jelly cookies, carrot coconut balls, semolina butter cookies, and pastries with homemade cream cheese. Nothing brought out was frozen or boxed. Everything was absolutely made in house from scratch. Very, VERY highly recommended! Go today! They're open 7 days a week!

Great food all around for Middle Eastern and Mediterranean options! Loved the Mediterranean platter with hummus, Babaganoush, grape leaves, and falafel!! Really taste the smokiness in the Babaganoush and the hummus is very smooth with a great addition of great quality olive oil. The grape leaves were warm and seasoned well, and the falafel was executed perfectly having a good amount of herbs and not dry at allI got the kebab platter and my wife ordered the Chicken gyro with a salad. All the food was delicious. I love the saffron rice. It reminded me of a dish my brother-in-law cooked, and he was Jordanian. The Kebabs were equally delicious with just enough grilling, and they were seasoned well. You can also taste the lamb and beef mixture, which I loved. My wife said her chicken gyro was the best one she has had in the KC area. I liked the salad. It is heavily dressed with their vinaigrette and it can look wilted, but that's how that salad is prepared because I have had this version in several middle eastern restaurants. Will definitely be coming back for the food!!. I also understand they do doordash or delivery, and I wish I lived closer cause I would order or go to the restaurant at least, weekly.

Can you smell the fragrant Middle Eastern spices before you taste them? That's my test for great Mediterranean food. It was the kibbeh that won me over. The hummus was thick, smooth, and rich, dappled in sumac and drizzled in olive oil. But the crisp aromatic kibbeh served with libneh (thick yogurt) made me take home a few to savor later. We had a mashawi mix plate single and chicken shawarma sandwich with fries that was an excellent sampling of Queen Sweets cooking style. Saffron rice, hummus, cucumber salad, grilled meats and then nothing but compliments and empty plates at the end. So we finished off the meal with a few baklava and freshly brewed black tea poured over mint leaves which suited lingering over conversation. Don't try to rush this meal. The take-out is a good consideration so you can eat at your leisure at home. But you can always gaze on all the Jordanian sites in pictures around or two YouTube video streams on TVs on the walls. A definite treasure and the best entrees of their kind in KC I've had.

There has been a lot of exposure on Yelp, the KC Eats Facebook page, and Google maps, about this place. It serves both Mediterranean style food and decadent sweets! And, after spending the afternoon drooling over the pictures I found on all three forums, I made a choice. Lamb shank with a side of saffron rice and hummus.

I asked a couple of questions of the owner who was very helpful and then placed my order. Finding a seat, I sat down and waited patiently. In a few minutes the food started to arrive. The owner placed in front of me, a large plate of saffron rice with a lovely lamb shank right in the center. Next came a side salad (that I didn't expect) and the hummus and pita bread.

The rice was flaky with a nutty and maybe with a honey, cinnamon flavor to it. With peas and some other kind of nut. It tasted wonderful. The salad was fresh and crisp with simple but good oil and vinegar dressing. The hummus was smooth and creamy with a drizzle of oil around the edge. The pita bread was warm and soft and made a perfect scoop for the hummus. And then there was the lamb shank. Delicious, tender lamb on the bone. I took a bite. I was so happy I had made this choice! Pulling all the lamb off the bone, cutting it into small pieces, mixing it with the rice, I dug in. While I was eating the owner offered me a taste of warm tea that I really enjoyed. All in all, it was a great evening.

Well Done Queen Sweets & Bakery!

Well...

Some friends and I were having a goodbye party for one of our number, and placed a huge order without calling ahead because we're flighty millennials (some zoomers) but also way more people than expected showed up. While there is a surprising amount of seating for the size of the restaurant, we decided to take the food to go so we could all sit together at a park.

So it takes a reasonably long time to make the food (huge order, to be expected), and after heading next door to grab some halal drinks to go with our food, we eventually picked up the food. The staff was very nice and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we would need to enjoy our meal, even giving us a metal serving spoon for the babaganoush and trusting us to return it when we finished.

Alright, food review time. 100% wow. Like, I literally said "wow" out loud when I took a bite of the lamb kebab. The rice was extremely flavorful and cooked the perfect amount of time like everything else. Well, almost everything else; the beef was slightly tough. Only slightly, and literally everything was flavorful in the way that only a chef who knows which spices are for what purpose and has a deft hand for ratios can accomplish.

As we did not eat in the restaurant, I can't say one way or the other what the atmosphere is like, other than that if you've ever been in any Middle-Eastern establishment, you know what kind of music is going to be playing just a...

If there was an option for zero stars I would definitely give it. I recently ordered food to go for my sisters surprise birthday party for more than 20 people. I talked to one of the employees and we had an agreement of 2 big trays of rice, 1 big tray of chicken, 1 big tray of salad, and 2 small trays of hummus and baba ganooch. We confirmed the order and she said it would be ready by Sunday. I called in a day early to make sure my order was still in process and they said that they had no idea that the order was put in. They gave me just small sized trays for everything. They overpriced me, and they didn't even add the tray of chicken. I will definitely never buy from them again and I suggest you don’t either. Even after we picked up the food they got mad at us for telling them the order was wrong. They gave us the food in a really disrespectful way. That’s definitely not how you should treat your customers. We even used them for my engagement party few months ago and they messed up the order too. I just still had some hope that this mistake wouldn't happen again and i wanted to give them a second chance, but I was wrong. They really disappointed me and i ended up ordering extra pizza. No communication, no customer service, no respect, no...
